Welcome to the Film and Television Forum. Discussing Film can be a delicate subject because you really don't want to go and ruin a film for someone who hasn't seen it by coming in here and saying "HEY GUYS I JUST WATCHED THE FINAL FANTASY 7 MOVIE AERIS DIES" because it ruins the film for everyone who hasn't seen it. For that reason we have to lay down a few rules and most importantly, first I must direct you to the general forum rules. If you don't know them you should at least check them out. "I haven't read them" isn't an excuse and you should have no problem finding them because I am giving you the link right here:
GW Forum RulesWhile posting in the Film Media forum we expect you to use common courtesy and follow the same conduct you would in any other parts of the forum.
- 1. All other forum rules apply. If you don't know them check them out.
- 2. If you are not sure about the credibility of something use IMDB or a similiar source to check that first. A Rumour is one thing but please don't tell us that Kurt Russell is making the Metal Gear solid movie without a reliable source because you will break our hearts.
- 3. If someone has made a topic about how they threw up while watching "A scanner Darkly" due to the shoddy "camera" work and it has just dropped off the bottom of the forum, you don't need to make a new topic just because you saw the film yesterday. You can bump it as long as it's relevant. Even if you don't want to discuss the fact someone threw up, consider one opion topic THE opinion topic. (In this respect if the post is 3 pages down, posted last May feel free to make a new one.)
- 4. Please write more than 3 lines. I am not interested in reading a topic that says "So I saw this film, your opinions?" Please tell us what you thought of the film, the good points, the bad points, a highlight, some pictures, who was acting in it? Were they good? If you can, provide a trailer.
- 5. Use Spoiler Tags. Please. If you are discussing the plot to a movie or TV show and you think that what you are saying might ruin it for some people then PLEASE put it in hide tags. More than likely people will click it anyway but at least then it doesn't all fall down on you and it is their own fault. Just as it is your fault if you don't use tags.
- 6. No Single Link Topics. If you want to link someone to a news article or some website involving information. Either a) copy the quoted information into a spoiler tag like most general forum news topics or backup the link with your own opinions and more movie information.
Spoiler tags are of utmost important. If you don't know them then check the code here:Spoiler tag (dark blue background, mouse over to read):
[spoiler] spoiler text here [/spoiler]
Example: This is a spoiler
Hide tag (replaces with a link, click to open and see what's inside!):
[hide] hidden stuff here [/hide]
Example:
You can also replace the "Spoiler" text:
[hide=Type what you want it to say here] hidden stuff here [/hide]
Example:
Hide tags can hold both text and pictures!
Thanks.
Now to discuss what this forum is really about. Film Media. This covers more than movies some of you may be surprised to know. Yeah...There is a whole world out there of independant movie makers, guys with cameras in their back gardens and sitting in front of computer screens trying to edit a callout onto a porn flick. Some of you yourselves may work in independant theater or damn, maybe you just took part in a school play and wanted to show us the recording your family took from the back row where the fat guy stands up in front and someone sneezes really loud.
Go for it.
