I've been kind of fascinated by what I've seen of PC-88 games / aesthetic for a while now and felt like making a topic just to stockpile knowledge and resources of the subject.
I guess what I like most is the colour palette and strange crisp graphic style but some other features that should be noted are the strange sloppy lineart usage in the adventure games and also the weird mixture of japanese writing with english titles / company names (emerald moon by ponysoft etc).

Well, so much from me.... pc 88 games excite me for some reason so i wanted to make a topic archiving links in case anyone feels the same way or has extra things to show!

Back when I was learning to write X68k music, I downloaded the soundtracks for about 500 MSX, PC88, PC98, X1, X68k and FM Towns games to figure out how they worked and what kinds of techniques they were using. I thought a lot of the songs in those soundtracks were really cool and so I decided to rip them and put them in a compilation. There's a lot of cool stuff here from a bunch of these computers, although most of them are X68k. Maybe you'll like some of it too -

Here are two samples -

Star Cruiser - Star Cruiser (X1)
Blue Phoenix - Stage 2 (X68k)

please do post more!! i've been really interested in learning to compose old fm stuff for a long time, but i always get too hung up on extraneous shit. especially the sort of jazzy, muzak-y synth rock that encapsulates the 90s Dating Sim feeling, but that's getting a little far from pc-88 stuff.

What a classic computer, part of the reason I want to get some 5.25 floppies for my computer is so that I can collect some PC88 and X68000 games and play them on my computer. If I recall the Touhou games started off on PC88 correct? Or perhaps I'm mistaken.
