What? No more T. Matsuda?

Yeah, the new composer is called Takanashi Yasuharu. Don't worry though, the new music definitely doesn't disappoint. It actually gives a more... serious atmosphere if you ask me. I still hope they will recycle some of the old themes though.

Just finished watching it, and just like Christophomicus said, it was way past my expectations as well. It's definitely one of the best Naruto episodes ever, if not the best. Can't wait for next ep.

EDIT. Also the music was excellent, I liked it more than first part's music.

Just watched it. Great soundtrack (don't like the main theme, unless the music during the next ep's preview is just another track), but the animation shold've been like the beggining of the ep.

this wasn't that great btw. the animation was really shitty at points (particularly any time Sakura turned her head) and there was one moment where Sakura was speaking and her mouth wasn't moving (no it wasn't frozen because Naruto was climbing in through the window). there was no really great action sequences or anything either. also the constant NOSTALGIA shit was irritating.

I don't think it's the main theme. At least I hope it's not. And as awesome as it would be, it's pretty much impossible for a long running series to maintain the quality of the animation which the beginning had.

I noticed the part where Sakura's mouth didn't move as well. It was not well done and I have no clue how the animators didn't notice it. I think the animation was completely fine otherwise though. I was talking about this with Kaworu on IRC but Dattebayo used the word nostalgic way too much even though it didn't seem to be a literal translation (and it was different in manga too).

Hmmm, I hope someone's put it up on YouTube. That's pretty much where I watch all my Narutard because who can honestly be fucked to keep hundreds of videos on their computer?

Wouldn't it be better to download the episode and delete it once you've seen it? Maybe it's just me but watching anime on youtube is much worse than watching a good quality version which you have downloaded.

I remember watching 220 (i think ) and dattebayo said that there were stil going to be 3 weeks of fillers. I guess this still counts as a filler? since naruto has to go through the chuunin exam again and fight kakashi with sakura

I don't think Dattebayo ever said anything like that and if they did, they are wrong. The new stuff (like bell training) is not filler. They changed some stuff and there were some added scenes (like the cat mission and the weird key word parts) but it's canon all right. I think the next two episodes will be:

Episode 3: Obviously Naruto and Sakura vs Kakashi with some Akatsuki scenes. The bell training should end in this episode, it was only one chapter in manga but I'm sure they'll be adding new scenes here.

Episode 4: Gaara vs Deidara (he's the Akatsuki with yellow hair). This will be awesome.
