Pretty much this. The pacing wouldn't be a problem if they wrote good filler parts instead of dragging it out with such painfully obvious and horrible methods. There have been a few well directed episodes which didn't actually cover that much manga. But most of the episodes are too slow and that's a fact. Though I think it has gotten better in this arc even though some episodes are still way too slow. At least the animation quality has improved and there hasn't been any downright horrible episodes since the first arc.

Well, Kishimoto (manga creator) said that this year is going to focus on Sasuke and then Sakura and especially Kakashi (why is this in spoilers heh) so I doubt we'll be seeing Naruto fighting in manga any time soon. My bet is that he'll go train alone or with someone after finding out about Jiraya's death and the manga will cover other characters for a while and then he'll return at some crucial time.

This week's episode wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Not that it was that good, but the animation was a lot better than what I expected. Anyway, next week's double episode seems promising.

Yeah I doubt he'll have a major fight for a good while but I was talking about the Konoha vs Tobi confrontation going on. What I was hoping for is that it broke off from the Sasuke-Itachi to wrap that up, then go back and have Naruto interrupting Itachi as he tried to take Sasuke's eyes. I was a bit disappointed with the latest chapter with Itachi just going WHAARGARBL and pitching over at the last moment, but I guess now hes shown everything hes got to offer Kishi has nothing to gain from keeping him alive.

My friend and I have been groaning at the pacing. We just decided to read the manga. so now that the spur of the series (Itatchi/Sasuke's Revenge) is over, what now? More Akatsuki stuff? I mean, now that Itachi's dead, what's Sasuke going to do? That was the whole reason he left in part 1 and started part 2

Well for one, it's not certain that Itachi is dead and even if he is, I'd say the way that fight was concluded was pretty interesting. Extremely unsatisfying, mind you, and I seriously didn't see Itachi dying here (I was assuming Sasuke would lose an eye or something) but Sasuke didn't really win against him, and I'm pretty damn sure he's not happy how things turned out, not to mention he was fighting Itachi in a seriously weakened state anyway. So yeah, it's basically what Kakashi told Sasuke in part 1. I think it's interesting to see how things will develop from here, and if Sasuke is going to remain as a villain or not. It also seems like Orochimaru survived unless that snake in the latest chapter means something else.

Well now that the Sasuke/Itachi fight is over we'll probably see the search team vs Tobi/Madara, though he's not really going to fight them now. We've still got Suigetsu vs Kisame, Tsunade receiving Jiraiya's message, whatever the rest of team snake is going to do, Kabut/Orochimaru, etc... There's a lot of possibilities now. It's a shame Naruto won't be getting much action (he really hasn't fought anyone in part 2). I hope we'll get some development for the leaf ninja seeing as they've hardly done anything during part 2 (except for Shikamaru).

Yeah he may just have fainted or something but its hard to imagine Sasuke just walking off and leaving him without finishing the job, he may be out of chakra but apparantly still has the energy to chuck kunais and use scrolls and shit. My prediction is that Itachi will do some death speech about Madara's role in the clan's massacre, Sasuke will target Madara next but get utterly schooled, then I don't know but maybe Madara takes him as he seems interested in Sasuke's development. Madara is still pretty shady anyway, we know about his history but in terms of what hes done since his loss to Shodaime we know pretty much nothing except that he used Kyuubi against Konoha 16 years ago, so maybe the manga will shed a bit more light on him now.

also predictions are not spoilers. I mean having it in spoilers is useless, I think that When Itachi dies he rejoins the force, and Sasuke trains to become a Jedi Knight to fight against the evil Darth Tobito. Not that only the first three words needed spoilers.

Not really, because not everyone will know what Sasuke's currently up to, so to say he might join Konoha or might fight Naruto is hardely spoilering anything because the people won't exactly know why.
This discussion about spoilers is kinda retarded though... because it is Naruto afterall.
