Hey since this doesn't seem new topic worthy, Ill just ask in a post... I know you can BUY things to skin your Desktop, or download some, but all the ones Ive downloaded (Windowsblinds, etc.) are all demos (or appear to be). How did you guys do it, assuming you didn't pay?

ok i know kefka is a cool villain but i would not use a desktop like that unless i was.......i cant come up with anything

patch your uxtheme.dll in windowsfor sp1:site for sp2:site use the replacer to patch, use the stable version.the uxtheme.dll is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32once thats done, download your themes and drag em into C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themessome themes don't show up in the display properties (you know when you right click and click properties on the desktop). so just change the theme by double clicking on the file itself if that happens.There might be an easier way to do this btw i dunno though

Well programs like WindowBlinds have little goodies that people think are great enough to buy (Alpha blended window borders, contex buttons movable, 0px borders, easy color changing, etc)I personally would just warez it, but there are no good WB5 themes out yet.

I can't believe how well this worked. I messed up once along the way (downloaded sp1) which screwed up my computer for a couple minuytes, but that replacer backs up the original so really this was easy as pie. Ill have to go theme hunting tommorow I suppose. Ive got a decent one right now though. Windows XP royale... Any recomendations anyone?

Wait, you were using XP without either service pack? Is that possible? I thought service pack 1 was the original XP... I don't remember ever downloading it... I do remember getting SP2 though... I dunno...As for themes, this is where I go.

Default ones are growing on me, I used to have some fancy ones but there is a bug with blackbox that makes libpng not work right so I can get any custom buttons working. But like I said, I am starting to like the defualt ones better for simplicity and small size.oh, and I saw you on the foobar2k forums (hydrogen audio) bjb.

I change my wallpaper like once a week, so this one won't stay up for too long. I was in a Jessica Simpson mood when I got it.I absolutely HATE having more icons on my dexktop then needed. Everything I use is in the Quick Start.
