Most popular MUD available right now, not pay-to-play but you can pay-for-currency sort of deal, which you can buy your skills with. I've played it the last 4 years or so, and the combat system is immensely complex and entertaining, if a bit unbalanced in some rare cases. Overall, a very indulging experience that I've enjoyed for a while and only recently played less.

you should add tales of pirates, it's in open beta it seems but it works pretty good, I'm playing it atm and I think it's pretty cool. give it a try

I've only played it once but there are a lot of people on at once and it's interactive so I'd think it would count.
But it still sucks.

Updated:
-Removed B2P-P2P and have merged it with P2P, so that the descriptions will say whether you have to buy it before P2P or not. If you mention a P2P game say if you have to buy the game before, please.
-Opened up P2P and B2P-F2P sections with some of the more popular games. Feel free to add them.
-Updated Credits Section
-Updated Info on 2Moons
-Moved Granado Espada to B2P-F2P

Next step is to update the descriptions of all games to include their features, etc.

Is DOFUS fully F2P now? Before it was a free limited trial and then P2P for the rest. If it is still that it will go under the P2P section.

Also I will not accept any private servers because they are illegal.
