I'd prefer not to read anything about the game and discovering everything myself when I buy the game (i.e. that Meta Knight thing). That way it's much more exciting! I also prefer watching officially released videos. Call me stupid but w/e.

EDIT: Also man his recovery move is excellent. It gives him so much height. I love the spring.

(i.e. that Meta Knight thing).

You know in that IGN thing they talked about how the game played and shit? It's THAT kind of stuff I don't want to know, reading about the gameplay and shit in detail.

EDIT: I can't really describe what I mean so I hope you understand.

Oh, right. I got it, I think. Although, they don't go into much detail at all with Metaknight, besides describing a few of his moves. I can see what you're talking about, though. Personally, for me, I find all this stuff is really REALLY hyping my up to the point of damnit I would just about do anything to get this now. All this info is like fuel to the fire and those gameplay videos just prove its without doubt gonna be one of the best games of all time. Imo.

Yeah it would most def. hype me up too. It's like pouring salt into the mouth of a guy who already has a dry mouth from thirst! But I did this once with another game and it kinda ruined the game for me (though I did get hyped before I played it) so I promised myself I wouldn't do such a thing again. Though it is tempting...but I must resist...

You expected something different? I'm pretty sure that this is exactly what most people want. After all, Melee was virtually perfect in every way, IMO. I would be extremely upset if they changed the formula more than a tiny bit.
i know, its just i was all HYPED UP about this and now i realise i can just go play ssbm and it will be like i am playing ssbb.

so yeah my hype just died thats all.

Not really, I don't think! There are plenty of similarities between the games in the series, but so much improvement as well. No more clones, new original characters, nicer graphics, better moves, places, and items... Final Smashes, Assist Trophies, new modes of playing, including a what seems to be awesome 1-player/co-op mode... So much stuff has been added or changed, and it looks much better. I'm not sure why your hype died from realizing that all the games in one series of fighting games have strong similarities.

Man, after watching those videos the game looks so incomplete.  They better delay it for a couple more years.

....SARCASMO!  But seriously, why do you think the game was delayed?  There are hints that they are working on adding some other big surprise.

Did you watch the video? It just looks like SSBB.

Like, just that sentence. The video looks like SSBB in a different stage with new characters.

I'm betting that everything, or most things at least, were planned out in the beginning. They probably just ran out of time for finishing touches, or something...? Maybe not. Two months is a bit long for finishing touches. I'm not sure...

EDIT: ...What? You lost me.  :fogetmmh:

Haha, oh. I figured something like that. I think it looks totally different, cosmetically and otherwise. Different strokes, I guess!

That's pretty much what we expected.  But I will give you that the difference between Melee and Brawl seems much smaller than the difference beween Melee and the original.

What? No, it's not LOL DIFFERENT STROKES in this case. It looks like 4 people playing a game of SSBM with Wii controllers. What exactly looks SO DIFFERENT?

I mean, all the trailers we've been shown so far have pretty much features 100% THE NEW STUFF, ie the Sonic trailer was 100% either the single player (which does look different in that the levels do not look thrown together in 5 minutes) or SONIC SMASHING WALLS AND FLOORS which is a new feature.

But when it boils down to it, the only true gameplay videos we have so far (the IGN ones) do really look like a game of SSBM. What looks so "totally different"?

Note that I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I'm just saying my hype is now gone because I guess I was expecting a BRAND NEW GAME somehow although I don't think I ever expected that to happen at all.

I for one am happy that Brawl hasn't changed much from Melee. Relieved, actually. I was mostly worried about the possibility of Brawl sucking (i.e, not being like Melee, which is a game that I find to be pretty damn close to being perfect). I mean, what else could we expect? It doesn't have to be a completely different game. And certainly there are still things to look forward to other than the the new characters and stages. Take Wi-Fi battles as an example. Wouldn't a GW Brawl tournament be fun to have?

Like Tat said, why should it be that different anyway?

And anyway, I think it is either LOL DIFFERENT STROKES or you're just being a little biased, maybe?, because it looks pretty damn different. Nevermind much better graphics, the way you play the game is different. Holding down the attack button for fast attacks, gliding, etc. All those small things that add on. It couldn't be TOO different of a game, I mean... Come on. How much more could they change it, really? If you gave the original SSB game Melee's graphics, it would more or less look identical albeit some different characters. Fighting games usually don't change that much between series, and why should they? If Melee worked, they just reworked it and made it better. Why should it be a BRAND NEW GAME in your sense? In mine, it is. Just the fact of having different characters, with less overall, makes it different.

Also! On the note of the tournament: I have most of y'all in my Friend Codes, but only one or two of you added me, so... I suggest we all go to the Wii Number topic and add everything in. A Brawl tourny is definitely something to look forward to.

Man I am really glad that it looks similar to SSBM. In those videos you could really see how Samus and Link have pretty much the exact same moves (like the basic a moves) which is good I think, I'm glad they didn't radically change anything but are really just adding more to it.

Also the graphics and stuff are delicious. I normally don't give a shit about graphics but in this case it just totally looks like a seriously upgraded version of SSBM which is really what most people want. It's an actual sequel and not some new game.
