Oh, I know, I beat this on PSX, just thought I'd level. Good thing too. I stumbled into a hidden finale to Reis/Beowulf at Lionel Castle. On PSX I went straight to Orbornne.
Cool stuff, I wonder if Construct/Worker 8 has extra story (doubt it).
Nope, Construct 8 is the same. However there is a multiplayer missions against about 10 of them with a tight time limit.

edit- Severus, sorry for being rude. You were trying to help, my reaction  was uncalled for.
Doesn't really bother me. If it hadn't have been for this bit "Does Brave go down?" I probably wouldn't have responded.

Wow I am kind of annoyed with this game now. I was expecting after Mastering Knight and Monk I would get some new class (Which I think is Geomancer) and Geomancer has been complete shit, I have hated slugging through it but I wanted to see what would come next so after taking the time to Master Knight/Monk/Geomancer what comes next? I was expecting Samurai or Dragoon but nothing, do I have to take the extra waste of time to slug my way through the Archer/Thief classes that I don't really want to do with this character just to get the next stage up in my powerhouse job tree?

Geomancers are pretty nice attackers, geomancy itself is pretty crappy though. At least they have a nice Attack up support ability.

Finally beat the game, only to be highly disappointed that the final scene wasn't animated. Altima was also even easier than I remember, beowulf's drain did about 783+ damage to altima in both forms, probably because of her high faith. Really, I have more trouble with the previous battle with Balk (Balich) and those annoyingly cheap hydras.

:( I kinda always felt the falling action in FFT's story to be sort of thrown together, and quick... to hear they didn't animate the ending makes me a sad panda.

hahaha, man, didn't you read those little graphs telling you which classes lead to which?  geomancer is pretty shitty and i don't think i ever really fucked with it, because it just didn't seem worth the effort it took to make it not suck.  you need it at level 2 to get ninja, which i did, and at level 4 to get dancer, which i definitely didn't do.  i don't even know why you'd think you have to master the classes.  samurai requires knight/monk/lancer to be no higher than level 4, and lancer itself only requires you get thief to level 3, and archer to level 2, which takes all of half an hour.  i think the same goes for ninja.  you don't actually need to go into the final job of the tree it's related to, just the second final job, and then you have to go into the other tree and get its final job to level 2 or 3 or something minor.

i just went to http://chaos2.org/ff/fft/jobs.shtml and chose the classes i wanted to be, and figured out what i had to do to get there, and did the bare minimum.  no mastering necessary!

yeah dude it's been out for like a month in the us.  i don't know if it's out in canada or not (do you guys even have different release dates?), but as long as it's out here, and readily available on the internet (it was even before it was released in stores, i think), that doesn't really matter.

Geomancer is one of the better classes in the game, simply because of their equipment options and stat growth. They tend to work well as magical-based fighters. Like, give a Geomancer the Samurai skill as a secondary (Draw Out or whatever it is in the PSP version) and let them go to town. Yeah, Geomancy isn't great, but the added status effects can be nice at incapacitating the enemy when you aren't in range to do anything else.

But Axes are made of suckage and failure.

Yeah, raising Agrias as a geomancer is a very good way to overcome her awful Physical attack growth in her Holy Knight Job class.

I was a little glum when I learned that your stats grow differently depending on the class you are, at least to the point you should plan it to some extent. It's also possible to level-down and optimize, but I think that's a little too hardcore for me; although I beleive it's required for some of the later co-op missions though.

yeah man I have no idea why I did all this shit. Like I have two characters that have mastered white magic and I don't even know why I did it. I think I wanted one of them to be a Time Mage and god knows why I even bothered mastering white mage the second time round it takes fuckingt forever. And yeah Geomancy was horrible to slug through but I was (for some reason) under the impression that after I mastered it the next class would be unlocked. Also yeah I didn't bother mastering things like SQUIRE because I wanted NEW CLASSES and then I had to go back to learn essential skills like JP Boost and stuff, so I guess I am just covering my back with things like that also.

Wait, they fixed the slow downs?
Because my version still slows down on a lot of the effects.

oh, it doesn't?  i have the us version, and there's a small but noticeable amount of lag on all ability animations that sort of gets annoying after a while when using longer, more elaborate abilities (shadow blade or whatever, divine ruination, etc).

Yes there is still slowdown, you've just got used to it, play five minutes of the original then go back to the psp version and you'll notice the slowdown. Most animations take twice as long to complete whilst the sound finished half way through. Good examples of this are protect, shell and Holy as well as any Mystic skill and Shadowblade/Sanguine Weapon.

It's hardly game breaking but it shouldn't be there, and it just makes something like CT5 Holy take several years to complete (Though I never did like using Math Skill).

Finally got an Onion piece of Equipment. Onion Shield - it has like 80% physical evade and 60% magic evade making it better than the Escutcheon II (except it's Onion Knight only).

My friend got a PSPslim because he hated the FFT slowdown... and he says the PSPslim removes slowdown. (Faster disc reading)

FYI - I like having a master Geomancer... as a back up class. Or even just for the counter attack ability (forget the name). Also, Dancers... are goddesses. Who needs Mustadio, when a Dancer rapes the entire enemy team in a matter of a couple turns (and she speeds up the longer you leave her alone [it ][/it])

How exactly does faster disc reading fix lag? The coding is the problem.
There are hundreds of people on the forums saying that the slim does not fix the lag. And these are people who have both a fat, and slim PSP. All versions lag.

And yeah Dancers are insane. I've ran into battles with just Ramza and a Dancer and I've won.
I've got to pick this up again, I still haven't beaten this game yet. =/

I have a slim, and I haven't noticed any manner of improvement compared to the regular psp.

Dancers are made of awesome. The status effect dance is one of the best things ever.
