video interview with Ono...

So what I gather from that interview for the home version is that...

  • The home version will balance the gender issue with the roster, meaning we'll probably see 2 or 3 more girls.
  • Dan is obviously in given the detail in which Ono spoke of him.
  • Gouken, or "Shen Long" as the idiot interviewer called him, will be playable.

Akuma is obviously going to be in as well because he's become such a staple character, major player, and fan favourite.

So let's think about this.. Dan, Fei Long, Akuma, Gouken should all be in, and then let's say... Four girls just to make the select screen balanced looking. I see this:

In all honesty, I do think that this is the most likely layout. We pretty much have four male characters on the way for sure (the four I mentioned above), so then.. Four more girls. There's that recurring "four is the magic number" rule.

So who would we see for females if there would be four? How.. About..... Cammy, Ibuki, Rose, Sakura???

<--- Crossing fingers.

PS - From now on I will refer to El Fuerte as Elf.

I don't think this Shen Long/Gouken bullshit will ammount to anything. Seriously.

He was probably being polite, but I bet when Ono went home he thought "Jesus christ, these guys never got the hint"

Well, Shen Long and Gouken are completely different people. Shen Long isn't even a real character, he's a recurring gag with EGM or something. Gouken is Akuma's older brother and trainer of Ken and Ryu. Gouken was featured in a video already that was shown at a Loketest or something, I'm not sure. I haven't seen the video yet, but apparently everyone "in the know" has seen it.

I think we have enough Shotos right now. Unless Gouken has completely different moves, there's no point.

And I want different costumes this time, not just different colours. You have no excuse, Capcom! I want fun costumes like Ryu in a bunny suit, so I can get more satisfaction outta whipping someone.

Simple colour swaps confirmed, no alternate outfits.

They're different suits, however only slightly. You know, more edges torn, shorter/longer sleeves, whatever

likewise, akuma can have his sandals and rope belt whatever

but yeah i know shen long isn't real, that's pretty much why i was saying that

as for a gouken video... i have my doubts on that, especially if you haven't seen it

I just looked around and haven't found squat about gouken showing up in any way in the latest loketest. Sounds like you got set up.

I'll be disappointed if Sakura isn't a PE coach.

Bottom left: Gouken

The video with him in it was shown during a loketest or demonstration of some sort, and Ono basically confirmed what I am saying in his interview when he said mentioned "the video in which he was heavily featured."

Yeah, I wish Gamespot or IGN would post it because they did mention it in their latest articles.

There's probably a reason why this one video is hard to come by, I guess. I am thinking that Ono's answer to it being shown to so many people is just a plain "no." It must have some important story elements or something in it which Capcom/Ono do not want revealed yet.

I assure you that's wrong because most pcs I see that are 500$ and less are actually inferior in some parts to my own PC which is 5 fucking years old and can't run a bunch of mildly recent games. Considering this is NEW GEN (no matter how sucky you say the specs are) you're still gonna need a pretty good fucking PC.

..Maggot.  :fogetshifty:

I want to see more Akuma. :(
You could easily get a 500$ system that could run current generation games (which is what SF IV is, not NEW GEN or NEXT GEN, they're planning on releasing it on CURRENT consoles) thanks to cheap but capable dual core processors and the ever affordable 8800s.

8800s alone are 200$, like I said, wherever I'd look around HERE (maybe you live in paradise whatever) but 500$ systems are actually worse than mine. Onboard graphics, for one.

Ones capable of running new gen CORRECTLY (not just cutting it and getting 10fps, you know) are like, 900-1100$ minimum. Though my mate was planning on getting a comp (no monitor and no speakers though) that was pretty good (8800 and quadcore and 2gb ddr2 and whatever) for 1300$

Yeah, a $500 computer without onboard video? That's unheard of in Canada, I dare say!!

Triumvir x Capcom... best believe its for the arcade release date.

In February of this year Richard and Brian told me while they were at the Magic trade show that a representative from Capcom stopped by our booth. The rep told them that they would like to meet later on regarding Street Fighter. Of course I thought they were bullshitting but the call from Capcom did eventually come. Junta Saito from Capcom came to our office and told us about Street Fighter’s anniversary this year and the release of Street Fighter IV next year…so the rumor was true after all (I’m sure some of you already knew about it, but I have been out of the loop for awhile). We talked and we were given the chance to make a proposal for this special Street Fighter project. This proposal had to be cleared with Capcom first and then by the producer of Street Fighter…the producer…yeah the producer of Street Fighter…and it’s due in one week…YEAH..! After the concept development I had to go back into college mode and convert the concepts to a power point presentation…yeah power point presentation…guys school does help a little. We got a response back from Capcom saying that the producer loved our concept and this is where we stand now…

We are very happy to announce that we will be collaborating with Capcom on the Street Fighter series. Our first assignment will be focused on SHADALOO, the crime syndicate of VEGA (M.Bison in the U.S). And that is all I can say for now. If someone was to tell me when I was in my teens that I would be a part of Street Fighter in the future I would have told them to give me a quarter. Now I’m 30 (my girlfriend is 22 so HA..!) and my goal and everyone here at Triumvir is to revive all you kidults (kid + adult) out there with the memories of those guys who use to do the short short throw on you…haha…but really it’s all about Street Fighter…hope you guys will like it…

B.

Don't know if this matters to anyone but Triumvir, the streetwear label, is doing a collab with Street Fighter for there anniversary and upcoming release of SF4. This should be a decent collab although i'm not a huge fan of Triumvir and there clothing label
