I wonder when we'll get a little more info on the home version.. Also I wonder how they'll handle the new characters and all that stuff. SF4 needs some modernization in terms of obtaining unlockables and what not, something the series always lacked. I think the new characters and 2-4 of the arcade roster should be locked when you start and have them unlocked in a way similar to Tekken, beat story mode and unlock a new character.

SF has always been kind of backwards, though.. In terms of gameplay, it's the fucking best by miles, but the rest I don't know.. The characters won't even have alternate costumes? Come on, that's a lot easier to implement in 3D than 2D. What's your excuse for this one, Capcom??

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Capcom should spoof Tekken and make Ken's alternate outfit be a biker outfit. I'd laugh.

Capcom just published the first of the anime sequences for the home version of the game on a new "Special Trailer" part of the official website. Of course, the first one focuses on Ryu.

You read that right, handdrawn cutscenes like these will actually be in the game. No idea to what extent they will be in. Probably there will either be one story mode with one progressive story, or each character will have opening and/or ending cutscenes like this. But I dont care even if it's just a secret ten minute clip because bloody hell this shit is on fire.

What more is in this trailer?
Well, since this stuff will actually be in the game, every character in it should be as well, and yes, Ono has confirmed, that is the case. And in the trailer we can clearly see Ken, Ryu (duh), Akuma (yes), Gouken (BARA-DUM-FUCKIN-DSH), and what kind of looks like Gen's face in a flashback.

So yeah, Akuma and Gouken (a.k.a. Sheng Long iirc) are in the game, if not playable then as bosses. And so is shit fuckign hot anime cutscenes.

Finally, they've shown that fucking clip!!!

Could be but it looks a lot like Gen, especially the clothes and his damaged eye.

From what I hear that scene is actually from SF1, apparently it goes like this: in the SF1 tournament, Ryu should have had no chance against someone like Gen, but won anyway and made it to the finals to beat Sagat. What happened is, Akuma and Goutetsu's battle started while Ryu was fighting Gen, Gen sensed it, ended up on the floor like that talking to himself, and Ryu won. Quite a fucking way for Ryu to find out about his masters death aye?

So what's going on in the video is Gen lying on the floor after just having lost that battle, sensing Akuma battling Gouken, and also talking to himself like the old senile cracker he is.

And yeah his name was Goutetsu.
