A new golden era of fighting has begun! Once again you must let your mighty fists shine!The newest entry in Capcom's Street Fighter series, Street Fighter IV, is set to release for Playstation 3 and X-Box 360 on February 17th, 2009. A PC version is rumored to be released around June of 2009.
This is Street Fighter's 20th Anniversary...20 years of having some of the most well known and competitive fighting games on the market.
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, which came out in '94, is still being played at tournaments like EVO today by top players, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, which came out in '99, the third iteration of the SF3 is still being played with its risky gameplay. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix will be coming soon early next year as well, taking all of ST and remaking it with UDON made HD graphics. Sexy.
Street Fighter fans have been waiting for this moment for a long long time. And now it has finally come. After 3s came out and like 4 years of nothing, I pretty much got to the point where I said "SF4? That'll come when hell freezes over."
Well shit, hell just froze over.
What's new?Street Fighter 4 plays like a mix of Super Turbo with Third Strike with a new level of newness to it. Fireballs are strong like Super Turbo, but you can stop throws with another throw at the same time like in Third Strike, and so on. 6 brand new characters have been added to the game on top of a cast of 19 characters from Super Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha. A new type of super called the Ultra is in the game which you get for getting beating on (while you get Super from beating on someone!). EX Moves from Super Turbo are back too! And finally there is the Focus Attack system which lets you play mindgames, do combos, "parry" a single hit attack, and devastate your opponent.
