So I've gotten back into AC (on the gamecube, the first one), and I'm pretty addicted again. I live in a town with my neighbor and best friend, and we often get competitive.

I think this game is long forgotten, it was a big hit when it came out, but even the 2nd one didn't fare too well...

Do you still play Animal Crossing? If so, what's in your house - how good is your character?

I heard great things about it and then I bought it and it was terrible. I've played it for around 20 minutes total.

I love Animal Crossing, the GC game was really fun. I didn't like the DS one very much, though. Here's hoping Nintendo finally says something about the Wii AC game soon.

I really enjoyed the gamecube version for a month or two, then it got old. I was really anticipating the DS version to, but god that one sucked so bad. None of the wifi capability lived up to anything it should have.

i managed to play the original a full 2 weeks before getting bored and time travelling once i realised "shit, this is it for the entire game"

same with the ds one but replace 2 weeks with about 40 minutes

my mum still plays the ds one EVERY DAY so i guess their target audience still dig them

looking forward to ac wii for some reason, though. oh well.

I played the GC one the day after I got it for christmas.  It felt really slow and boring.  I have a lot more fun playing Harvest Moon games.

I played the GCN game well into 2003 but then began to drift away from it.  The DS game I still play occasionally but I don't care for my town as much as I used to.

i was really into the first one. i paid my house off and was out to get all the nes games, but i never got an e-reader, or action replay lol. the nes games gave a nice little bonus to it and allowed us a break for the day to day rat race in (pimpcity) lol.  i would go to island on my gba and make my islander drop money for eating fruit and everything. i'm really looking forward to the wii version, however i feel i might be disappointed. i can guess their wont be any roms because of nintendo's wii shop, but its not like it cost them royalties to release their own first party titles as an incentive to the game. the online will probably suck because none of us have friends to play with, and it better not be limited to fishing and bug catching tournaments. i want to see more interactivity with items like pool tables, pinball tables, ping pong, arcade machines, you know whatever. i think items like that should be like mini games that you can play with town visiters. and maybe since the wii has 24/7 connect, maybe you could visit your friends, or a stranger's (without actually encountering the stranger) town while they are offline as well as online.

Have they even really announced an Animal Crossing for the Wii beside a passing remark here and there? I'm not sure if this is a game that will ever see the light of day...

See above. I gave it to a friend for free, the day I bought it. He gave it back the next time we met.

I gave it away again.

I always start playing, play for about a month or two, then stop. Then I start again after a couple months usually. Heh...

haha, I had actually checked the wiki several minutes after I posted, but had to leave for the day so I never remedied my post.

Regardless, it's been awhile since we've heard anything about it.

I really want Animal Crossing Wild World; enough for me to consider buying a DS so I can play it. The only things I didn't like about Animal Crossing for the GCN were all eliminated or changed for the DS version.

For example, I liked playing AC for about 20 minutes every day, but Getting out my Gamecube to play it was too much of a hassle (long story) for a gaming session less than half an hour. A handheld seems like the perfect platform for this type of game.

Also, I didn't like the angle of presentation or the switching between acres in AC, but from what I've read it seems that Wild World is in true 3D so that won't be a problem anymore.

It just seems like there's more stuff, and in a game like Animal Crossing, more stuff is always welcome.

EDIT: Also, WIFI.

I've never played the games, but discovering Mr Resetti interested me. I still probably won't ever play the games ever, though.
