i'm a big fan of Death Note. apparently, it is premiering tonight, October 20th, 2007, at midnight! Adult Swim (Same channel as Cartoon Network; channel 47 on comcast cable) is going to show the American version. if you go to http://www.adultswim.com, it shows a splash-page type thing with Light on it, hehe ​  so yeah, i'm pumped for this! and as you can see here, other people are too~! just thought i'd let you guys know, since i know there are some death note fans on GW. :]

yeah well you can find Bleach online in Japanese with subtitles, and it's much better that way (actually, i think you can find the american version easily as well). i'm so excited for death note~! i really hope the dub doesn't suck. ._.

Anyway, Death Note...heard about it so much but just saw it. I don't know about this one. It could get better later on, but the elements in it are simplistic and in-direct (A notebook that kills people) + even though the writing is great and I'm sure the music is awsome.

How the hell is Blood+ still airing on Adult Swim!? (If I find out it's the same people behind Inuyasha's ratings I swear I am going to devote the rest of my life to finding a Death Note, and I WILL be creative about the causes of death)

I disagree. Anything beyond 21 is unwatchable.

death note was great until the yotsuba episodes, which started at 21 or so. episode 25 really shook things up (i cried ;_;), and then things got mellow (haha pun) and a little boring again with Mikami. still, though, i thoroughly enjoyed Death Note as a series. i'm happy they're showing it on Adult Swim so other people can see it too (and not little 7-year-old narutards since they'd be staying up past their bedtime ).
so, about the episode! i thought it was pretty great. the english voices aren't bad. Ryuk sounds a little too evil though, and Light sounds a bit too grown-up. ryuk is supposed to sound sorta silly. i mean, he has a deep voice and all, but in some scenes, it gets higher pitched and whiny ("c'moooon Raitoooo~! gimme an apple!"). but i think i can get used to the English voices.
(English? it's not really english... it's american. meh. if it was english, they'd speak without the american accent and would be using British slang instead of American slang... but whatever.)

I have never watched Death Note before but the dudes look hottt. I might watch it some time, but it looks really goofy at times.

So far, the Manga > the Anime. Just like every other series.
