Ofcoarse I watched the entire series. And I didn't say Light+L was good. All I said was that it was unwatchable after 21. Why? Because L was all the series had going for it that that point. Light's character was already exhausted as a source of interest... and that left me with little reason to keep going. That didn't stop me from watching the series (same went for Naruto/Bleach/ etc) but the fact remains... as a person who liked where it was going yet considers it a massive failure (like the original Hellsing)... most of the series is simply unwatchable.

It would seriously kick ass if they made ep 15-2 where and just continue until 37-2. In the entire series Light would "fight" L and the one that dies is only reveled at ep 37-2 and make it that both can win.

I quite like how the series is splitinto two (arguable three) parts.

Though the Yotsuba arc wasn't asgood as the rest of the series, it was quite humourous to watch such a befuddled and confused Light, and at the end of the day, it turned out to be an amazing piece of forward thinking.

Also, I quite liked Mello and Near, though Near was clearly more worthy of being L's heir, I liked the fact that Mello was more rash and over the top. In fact, it's because of Mello the ending is what it is. Plus, the second time, Light faces two adversaries and has become complacent after so many years uncontested.

But yeah, manga>anime so far I felt far more immersed in the manga

the end was completely horrible. light goes out of character and makes stupid mistakes and freaks out, meanwhile the least likely person to shoot someone, shoots light (and werent none of them supposed to have guns anyway?). after light damns himself of course. i wont even begin into the possibilities of either light or "kira-x" having an extra page on them, or how something as silly as kira x bringing even a gun just in case wouldve changed everything, but theres just so many weaknesses with the ending i almost like to think it didnt happen. id have even been happier if light and near killed each other at the same time.

Dude reversal of expectations is one of the most classic plot twists. btw Light DID have an extra page

i mean an EXTRA extra one. that sucks he kept only ONE small square in his watch. and didn't even think to tell Mikami to keep extra pages on him (or even to keep his death note more safe than inside the locker at his gym).

The one in the locker gym was a fake, but the real one was actually in a bank. The only reason Mikami and Light was screwed was because of Mello's action about Takada Kiyomi. Light told Mikami not to do anything but Mikami thought that Light was in a situation he can't move so both of them wrote at the same time. etc. etc. etc.

Actually, Mikami would only go to the bank once a month or whatever, but this time he had gone to the bank twice in a short time period, because he felt he had to kill Takada. His pursuer thought it would be strange for a punctual guy like Mikami to go to the bank twice in such a short time period, and then they considered the existence of a fake note. With this info they managed to get the real note from the bank and exchange it with another fake.

Anyway this channel is darn shame. Everone who watches a anime for the first time on this channel immediately gets a bad impression because of the fucked voices. Really a shame. And if you think the voices are good, you are an idiot

Yeah, Death Note's English voices have actually really impressed me. I especially like L's. But then, I love everything about L. I wish the whole series were about L instead of Light. Maybe "The Adventures of L and Ryuk." Yeah. That'd be fun.

Anyway, they definitely all seem to fit in with the show's aesthetic, of being dark and gloomy without being particularly emo (at least compared to a lot of what else is out there). An oppressive atomsphere, I suppose, is the word I'm looking for. And Light comes off as a cocky asshole who needs a good killing, and every word he says confirms that's exactly what he is.

Really, the only complaints I can see coming is that they don't match with the Japanese series (which I haven't seen, so I have no idea if that's true). But if that's the case, I would guess that the English voices are, if anything, more appropriate. I've definitely heard that said about L.

Dang this is the most pompous shit ever. I'm all for listening to the Japanese voices when it's an option, and that's what I prefer, but that doesn't mean I go "AND IF YOU PREFER THE ENGLISH VOICES YOU ARE WRONG".

The beauty of animation is that you CAN change the voices. Look at the Lion King--you can watch it in almost any language and it's just as good. Even though there are several series that do have terrible English voice acting, it is just plain stupid to say that anime is ONLY good with English voices.

2. They read everything up from a paper. At least the Japanese voice actors say everything out of the head.

L's english voice is WAY too heavy he's supposed to sound like a weirdo and he sounds like a married guy. Als Ryuk's voice, that's just way too "demonic" and heavy again. Ryuk had a pretty high voice. Light. Light sounds like a total nerd and again talks without any feeling at all. "I am the son of superintendent Yagami I dont want them to say he went in the hospital and criminals stopped dying oh yeah by the way I am a bitch". No really, I actually though he was gonna say that.

I could go on for hours but people who've seen the english voices before the japanese will never get my point.

Ok, so you expect the people who disagree with you to do the work to prove themselves wrong? First off, what do you think is the likelihood that anyone would actually do that? Second, the fact that you are lazy enough to issue this challenge and not do the work yourself to back up your claims shows to me that you are generally a lazy person. Now answer me this, what do you think is a cause of the "apparent" lack in quality and diversity in dubbed anime voices today? I am quite postive an argument can be made that some of the people in charge of casting english voices for anime is lazy, and therefore not dedicated to expressing "what anime is really about". Now given that it has been proven that you in fact are a lazy person, it would suffice to say that if the person who caused dubbed anime voices to be so bad was replaced by you, you would do the exact same thing he did to make the english voices so bad in the first place!

In fact, I am generally sick of this whole "holier than thou" additude anime fans have. The truth is that if anime was that fucking great, it wouldn't depend so heavily on the quality of the voice actors in the first place! If anime was the true zenith of animation, then you could watch it muted, and still find it fucking awesome! Go look up some real cartoons that are dubbed in other languages (I suggest some directed by Bob Clampett, or at least Chuck Jones) and you will see what I mean. (please take note on how the phrase "see what I mean" is a lot better way of putting it than "know that I'm right", in that it doesn't make you sound like an arrogant asshat)
