I can see you know absolutely nothing about anime.

First off to rule out your first issue:

English dub Death Note episode 8 (wow even the link to the website of your disastrous channel is on there)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=omaw6ormRF8

And you can download the japanese episodes here:

www.deathfan.com

Secondly,

Yes I am very very lazy. Good job, you've just proven I would absolutely suck as a anime voice actor. In which you're right, because I'm dutch. So unless they'll ever make a dutch dub, I won't be chosen for that. Also I never said voice actors are lazy, I said they have no feeling for what anime really means.

Thirdly, anime is so awesome because it's japanese, but guys like you will never understand it. A guy like you that compares anime to cartoons is 1000 years too early to discuss anime with me.

Goodbye.

PS: Sorry but I had to post this rofl idiot quote from the english dub.

Yagami Souchiro discussing the cameras with L:

"And make sure you install them everywhere. I dont want any blind spots in the house and that includes the bathroom."

L (on a tone that almost sounds perverted): "Thank you very much, that was my intention."

Seriously! Are we discussing a murderer case here or a porn movie? Damn.

If you understand anime, then enlighten us on what it is about. If you cant teach it, then you don't understand it. You don't even have to suceed at getting us to understand it, you just have to try. Just say what you know about the nature of anime that we don't know. The source of your enlightened state on the matter, even if it goes completely over our heads.

I mean, it HAS to be about more than being Japanese, because I already know it's Japanese, and you just said it'd take me 1000 years to reach your level of understanding.

But you are right, you just can't compare anime to cartoons. Cartoons are on such a higher level that comparing the two is not only insulting, but the main reason why todays cartoons are complete trash. I could explain it to you, and try to post examples of cartoons to observe and help you understand why their realm is the one that contains the greatest examples of animation superiority known to man, but it'd take you 1000 years to reach that level of understanding. And unlike you, I'm not exaggerating when I use that number.

It's not about the animation or about how nice it looks. It's about a story the creator is trying to tell you.

Naruto.

Oh goddamm more fillers oh plix no no fillers plix. Jeez, stfu. What Naruto is about is a kid that was cursed with a demon inside him and have no friends. Until he finally finds someone to bind with, someone that feels like a brother too him. But that boy has his own goals and even though he has to leave his best friend, he has to live up to it. The other boy is now on a lifelong journey to restore the only real bond he ever had.

Chrono Crusade.

Www.wikipedia.com for a story summar, this anime can't be explained in few words. But I'll tell you that I cried at the ending, just because it was so beautiful and emotional. I never cried when watching a cartoon.

Cartoons are just pieces of entertainment with the only goal to make people laugh. Sure South Park and Family Guy are funny as hell, but that can't be compared to anime because anime is not about humor and cartoons are.

Cartoons have no depth. It's just plain entertainment wich is probably not a bad thing. There's no story in it and every episode is full of random happenings. This is the exact opposite to anime.

Anime is great because the main characters live up to their dreams and because it's shown so beautifully. Anime is great because it makes you laugh and cry.

Watch this episode and maybe you'll know what I mean. Even people new to anime but with a bit of fantasy will love this episode. It can't be described, you just have to watch it.

Cartoons are pieces of entertainment, so are anime. Not all cartoons try to make people laugh, apparently you missed out on alot, perhaps your place of residence has condensed your animation consumage?

I don't have a whole lot to say, just that you need to rethink your life. I used to be like you years ago, but I grew out of it.

What the hell? Why is everyone comparing cartoon and anime as if they are two different things?
Anything that is drawn is the same shit in my opinion. Pretty hilarious conversation by the way.

... I like the english voices.

and I like cartoons... (except Looney Toons)

Heh, I compare stuff like Looney Tunes and Betty Boop and stuff like South Park and Family Guy like they are different things.

In fact, I put family guy and south park in the same boat as anime, in that it's just moving pictures put to clever writing. The fact that it is animated adds nothing to the entertainment value of the show, and in the end is just like comic books/manga, only lazier.

It's so rampant and bad, you remember cartoons that actually use movement as a medium (such as looney tunes) in terms of the bland animation rampant on today's networks and falsely assume that because the writing is shallow, such cartoons offer no entertainment value in today's society.

It's a shame.

You're kind of abrasive, man, so it's hard for anyone not to side against you.

It's not really fair to say the moderators are picking a side when your side is SUBS ARE BETTER THAN DUBS AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG BECAUSE IT IS FACT NOT OPINION

The only side the moderators are picking is the one that is keeping you from hijacking this thread. This isn't a dumb subs vs. dubs/anime vs. cartoons debate nor is this 4chan. You can't just come into whatever thread you feel like and start stirring shit up.

Anyway this channel is darn shame. Everone who watches a anime for the first time on this channel immediately gets a bad impression because of the fucked voices. Really a shame. And if you think the voices are good, you are an idiot

This was my opinion about this show airing on your channel, wich was the point of this thread. It can't be helped if people are going to reply on it and take it seriously. I expressed my opinion in this post, although I admit I gone a bit too far with "And if you think the voices are good, you are an idiot", but giving me 2 warnings for this is a bit out of order, since I was not the one who started this thing.

Well like I said this discussion is over. You can go on discussing the english Death Note dub now.

You got 1 warning for this btw. Also you were the only one with warn-able qualities in your post, just ARGUING is fine as long as you aren't flaming/elitist/being ignorant/etc.

Man I'm not a total anime fag by any means (watched like four series from beginning to end ever) but those voices aren't even bad. From what I watched of that link L sounds like a 20 year old english guy, that is what we sound like (I must sound like a "50 year old bitch"???) self-righteous little prick.

For flaming me I feel a need to reply to your post yet again. If you sound like that, that's fine, but like I mentioned before that's not how anime's supposed to sound.

Please do make sure you compare the voices. I'm sure you'll find the japanese better. Although maybe not, since you're american yourself.

Usually you like the voices you hear first, you get used to it. Of course, I prefer the Japanese voices right now because I'm used to how Light sounds - But since I don't know Japanese it's easy to miss whether the acting is good or not. In English you can clearly here if someone says a line badly unlike in Japanese (unless you know the language).

TimeCrash, you act like a total nerd to be honest, it almost feels like we have disturbed your holy anime. Please master... teach us.

man okay, you're just totally fucking ridiculous

What do you mean anime is not supposed to sound like that? The character is a 20 year old slightly eccentric dude brought up in England. So a youngish english voice will probably fit????????

Maybe Japanese is just a language..... maybe anime is just a fucking medium and it's the content that's important?

Oh damn, at times I forget I'm actually a mod here since it's been so quiet. Thanks for JUMPING AT THE CALL for me NP.

Anyways this thread really went down the drain. Chances are it might still be able to be recovered but I just don't think it's worth this cancerous second page anymore so locked
