I really don't want a PS3, they look pretty suck to me, but I gotta say the combo of FFXIII and MGS4 is killing me. I pray for a Substance-esque re-release on 360.

So yeah, if you wait it out you're gonna be getting some damn good exclusives down the track.

Goes both ways. There's no difference between 360 and PS3. They're consoles of the next gen. Whatever specs they have; regardless.
It's a matter of opinion--- and frankly I'm fucking tired of hearing it. "PS3 looks like shit, I have 360 etc" Sick and Tired of this. I've played both a LOT, and they BOTH have excellent game selections. PS3 has a few great games--and 360 has a few great games. The bulk of games out right now are trash, though there are a FEW good for each system. All things considered, if you really want a system for tons of great games; go with portable systems.

I own all 3 next gen consoles and I think (generally) the X-Box 360 probably has the best selection of games at the moment.  With the Wii in second and the PS3 trailing behind.

Keep in mind I'm talking exclusives here.

The PS3 has some good exclusives coming out this Christmas but so do all the other consoles so I don't really think it's going to change too much in the near future.

EDIT:  I should point out that I don't regret buying the PS3 persay but I think the X-box was a better buy overall.

Well, I hooked it up to watch Blu-Ray movies.  Netflix automatically sends you the Blu-Ray at not extra charge instead of the DVD if you have a player.  But until we had gotten a Blu-Ray in the mail, it had been sitting in the closet.

Anyway, I won't sell it because I'm sure there will be something awesome for it eventually.  I never had an XBox, and while I would have liked to play KOTOR or Fable when they were new, I'm certain I would have bitched about that being worthless and never playing it too.

You can stream video from your PS3 to your PSP via the internet in order to play certain PS3 games remotely.  Apparently it's a cool concept and Lair controls much better on PSP than on PS3.  Never tried it, though.

What about backwards compatibility?

I am one of about 147 people who didn't own a PS2 so this is a big selling point for me (as is the bluray player, because I recently bought an HD tv).  I keep hearing varying reports on backwards compatibility.

Specifically, I am wondering about Singstar (for my wife - I sound like a dying frog).  I know there is a Singstar PS3 coming (with a date TDB), but that doesn't help for this xmas.

I am also interested in other big games of the PS2 era (like your final fantasies and ....whatever else).  Is there a compatibility list somewhere like Xbox has?

type in the name of the game it will tell you if it runs currently. I heard it's 92% backwards compatible with both the ps1 and ps2  currently, and they're constantly updating, making it better. I think most mainstream games are compatible (like the final fantasies) though I haven't tried anything except ratchet and clank 4, and bully on mine yet.

- Ratchet and Clank is AMAZING. So worth it. And I think they are starting a new trilogy with it and that game is the first in the trilogy.
- Heavenly Sword. It is short, but so much fun and truly beautiful.
- Folklore. Playing this now. Pretty good, not as good as everyone's been saying. I'd give it an 8, where IGN gave it a 9. It's not crap or boring, but I was expecting a little more.

Ratchet and Clank is good infacted one of the best ATM But it sure did nothing to revent the gameplay that it had and it seemed short for me. Don't get me wrong it dose have alot to do but doing all the skill points is not my cup of tea uping my wep. Lv. Next PS3 game for RC is going to be sick I hope.
