So I was wondering, why isn't there a D. Gray-Man thread? The anime is already over 50 episodes and is still on-going. Well at least there is a thread now.

So what is the series about?

Story:

Quote
The plot, which takes place in an imaginary end to the 19th century, revolves around Allen Walker, a young boy who becomes a member of the Black Order, an organization of members known as Exorcists. Their mission is to stop The Millennium Earl, an evil being planning to cleanse the world by destroying all humans and life itself, with the help of his brethren, The Noah Clan, and of course, his creations known as Akuma.

The Exorcists themselves are chosen people, gifted with the ability to control and use Innocence, a divine substance created in ages past to combat the Earl. It is said that after The Great Flood, the 109 fragments of Innocence were scattered around the world. Once an Innocence finds its compatible user, it can be made to become a weapon for the user to wield in the battle against the Earl.

Info:

- Currently 56 episodes long. Still on-going.
- Three openings: INNOCENT SORROW (by abingdon boys school); Brightdown (by Tamaki Nakami); Doubt & Trust (by access).
- Five Endings: SNOW KISS (by NIRGILIS); Pride of Tomorrow (by JUNE); To the Continuation of the Dream (by surface); Antoinette Blue (by Kitade Nana); The Reason Why You Are Here (Rie Fu).

I watched the first four episodes or so when it started airing but it wasn't that interesting so I decided that I would check it sometime later when there are more episodes out. Maybe now is the time......

It does get better. Too bad there are a few fillers in between the arcs, not that they're bad, just a little boring compared to other episodes. You might want to skip ep 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18.

Ha ha, a coincidence indeed! I was thinking just recently why there was no D.Gray Man topic. Now that there is  one finally  up and running, I can come here to talk! The Millenium Earl (along with Road) has to be my favorite character so far (and I don't think that is changing any time soon  :gwa:)

What!? Episodes 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are fillers!? Nooo! T.T I just finished 15. Will I really miss anything if I skip to 19?

This is a terrible show with a terrible plot, only thing good about the comic was the art, other than that it was pretty mediocre.  Just watch the Exorcist, now that was a good movie about exorcists.

Just wondering, what exactly is wrong with the plot? I think it's better than most shows. I havent read the manga (except for the recent chapters) but doesn't the story go like this:

I agree on the art in the manga being better. The new style gives off a western feel for some reason.

I was planning on watching this after being convinced that Allen was awesome thanks to Jump Ultimate Stars (heh), but I keep forgetting to.

Well, I find it to be a great series. Then again, I find alot of things like this to be great.

Anyway, I got into it around episode 5-6. Well, whatever one it was when they went to that town with the living doll.

The D.Gray Man openings are all so good...there is not one of them that I don't like. Still, theres only 3, so I don't really have a huge variety to select from =P

I heard the series suffers from fillers. Are they really that bad?

Well some of the fillers are actually canon. Still fillers though. I wouldn't say that the fillers are bad. Some of them add more to the story and are animated pretty well.

Well, the fillers are not really that bad, to be honest. I'm actually liking the one about the Millenium Knight. It's animated quite nicely.

I just read up to Chapter 110, so now I am starting back on the anime again >.>

Hmm, I think I watched the first 15 episodes of it or something like that but I never felt that it was interestins enough to keep watching, and I doubt I'll give it a second chance. The openings are quite awesome tho, Snow Kiss owns.

Ah, thats too bad. My favorite episodes (or "arcs") so far were episodes 3-5, or the "Ghost Of Mateel" episodes. I also liked the ones with Miranda, but that is mainly because we got to see Rhode >.>

Also, from the manga, I want to see the episodes with Crowley. It seems like I might enjoy them as well.

Episode 56 was beautiful. It wasn't exactly an action episode, but it was very well animated.
