On the shield thing though, the Z-button has always been hard for me, and so I've never used grabs. I guess I'll just be that much more awesome when Brawl comes around now that I can GRAB.

Me too. The Z button was the biggest fuck up on the Gamecube. I hear you'll be able to totally customise the controls in Brawl though, which sounds hot.

No Ness? :(

They better not make him a gay assist trophy or something.

I never liked pk thunder. It was just not effective enough to use. It left you open for too many attacks.
I'm not sure how pk freeze works, but it seems a lot more effective in terms of offense.

Did you use PK Thunder directly, or did you whip it around to turn Ness into a projectile? Because it's a lot more effective the second way. Using PK Thunder directly against them mostly just seems useful as an annoyer for opponents who hide in some comfortable spot and try to make you come to them.

I use both, maybe I'm just not good at using it, but someone always manages to thwart my plans, since the time it takes for the thunder to flip around can easily tell what direction your going in. (leading for an easy air dodge)

Now, none of my friends specialized in ness, but when they did play as him, most of us could dodge/counter the ness projectile easily. (unless we weren't paying attention or something)

I loved Ness with the exception of PK Thunder, just because I was so shit at controlling it so if Ness fell too far he was fucked.

I use the Z button exclusively for grabbing and L for rolling. Plus with the Z button, you can run and grab.

Yeah, he's either not coming back, or he'll have a different moveset.  Sadly, I think it's the first of those two.  I hope they didn't cut anybody else from the original...

I'm glad they finally laid Ness to rest.

I think I'm happier when characters are deconfirmed than when they are confirmed. It's a lot more fun to laugh at the ridiculous fanboys saying "Ness can have a new moveset. Lucas gets his old one."

One of my friends specialized in ness, and with a little practice PK Thunder is deadly. I really hope Lucas doesn't replace Ness however, it just wouldn't be Super Smash Bros without Ness.

They pretty much straight-out said he wasn't in it. Someone pointed that out on the last page.

This is interesting; they seem to be making smash moves much, much more than just powerful melee attacks now. First Snake is planting bombs, and now Lucas is doing Psi moves and stuff. Cool! I never really used Ness' down-B, so that's a little disappointing, but I like PK Thunder. I never could quite get the hang of using it to move him upward, though; he'd always fly at the wrong angle or something. Also, I may have misread but I think they said PK Thunder would be faster in Brawl, so that's good.

I was just thinking...wouldnt it be cool if KOS-MOS from Xenosaga would be in this game? Nintendo owns Monolith now so...she could play as a hybrid of Snake/Ike,and for her Final Smash she could do "Hillbert Effect",and all of the people who dont know about Xenosaga are gonna be like "WTF?" and they would buy the game just cause she is in it...

I know its imposible... but a man can dream...cant he?

This.

I use the throw A LOT, too, so if I have to ADAPT to this game I'm gonna be pissed.

fuck woo the ice climbers are back (late to the party)

also I need to stop playing melee so much or change to another character because I am so good with fox it is pissing my friends off (Ice Climbers is my alternate); I always liked running and doing a shield grab as well

New stage looks like it could be pretty good.  Just another lava stage, but with a lava wave occasionally that requires you to duke it out for the 1 hiding place there is.  Sounds fun.

Me too. The Z button was the biggest fuck up on the Gamecube. I hear you'll be able to totally customise the controls in Brawl though, which sounds hot.

I never understood what people's problem with the Z-Button was.  Aside from the first couple days I had a Gamecube, I NEVER had a problem with it.  /shrug  Maybe that's just me though.  But like you said, you'll be able to customize the controls (for any of the 4 control schemes, I believe), so if you don't like the Z-Button you can always change throw to something else.
I'm not conceited.  I'm as good as I say I am.

Uh, PK Cross?  I think you mean PK Flash.  If you charge it up to the maximum, it's insanely powerful.  However it leaves Ness stuck in place.  It's best for edge-guarding, or certain places where an opponent must pass through it to reach Ness.  Not good for much else.

Heh heh heh...I sense a good chance to be evil on Norfair.  In Melee, if there was ever something of impending doom nearby (an Onett car, an Electrode), sometimes I enjoy just grabbing a person and forcing them to take the hit with me.  This lava wave is gonna be a source of great hilarity for me.
