Because Metroid is about a lone character running around a place populated by mindless monsters and bosses.  It barely has characters.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for something really crazy like Pacman.

I have to say, I'm really disappointed with this game, and how much time I spent looking into it.

This isn't nintendo allstars, it's starfox+mario+kirby+pokemon adventure. +r.o.b.lol.
God damn it. I really hope there turns out to be more characters. I'm not excited for any of these things except maybe sonic.

Apart from Waluigi not being a character makes this game infinately bs.

I can't believe people are crying that "nintendo X" character didn't get in.  I thought the whole reason people loved smash bros is because it's actually a well balanced fightan gaym.  3 dozen characters kinda makes things hard to balance.  I already hated the whole TIER discussion with Melee... now it's going to be twice as bad with Brawl.

man, most people don't even consider SSBM a fighting game, which is just sad, most people play it at a casual level and don't even know/care that tiers exist

mayeb it should be broken though, MvC2 has like 60+ guys and only 6 or so are used in tournaments, but it sees play like mad good.

they needed to include all 493 pokemon

yes it is very sad indeed that people play the game just for the fun of it

I don't blame them.  Whenever fightan gayms are discussed you get that crowd of people who will bight your head off because you prefer to play with a joystick instead of a joypad and the guys who find exploits to every moves like the whole wave dash phenomenon.  Fightan gaym fans are some of the most ferociously competitive vidya gaym players... EVER.  Not even armchair generals, halofags, or even counterstrikefags measure up to fightan gaym players.

I don't get it. Melee was exactly the same, only more clones. Now, characters with new
movesets (even though I haven't seen falco and wolf in action), more
original characters, a brilliant lineup from nintendo's most popular francises, and all i see
people bitch about is how Isaac and Geno probably aren't in it.

I still think the game will be great, and I only really hoped for one more character.
But his absence wont cause me to never play the game or anything.

(I personally have no problem with competitive play, as a matter a fact I hope with the option of online play I might get to learn a bit more about it)
