Did i miss something? Apparently you must have a pre-order to join the tournament(all three of the five gamestops in my area that i went to said the same thing), but i didn't see that anywhere on the website or the little signs they have at the stores. I know it says 'No purchase necessary' so do pre-orders not count as a purchase?

I have no problems with Meta Knight's voice though. Pit sounds okay too, but a lot of people are complaining that he sounds too effeminate. Ike's voice is just dull and terrible.

Yeah, different gamestops have been saying different things. When I signed up, the guy said he didn't think you had to preorder (and he was the manager). Other people have said you do need to have it reserved.

Basically, the only thing you can be sure of is that there is no consistency in this first tournament.

I... I might just stick to playing the Japanese version...

Of course most of those are victory/taunt clips, but man that's terrible.

Where's the "misshun comprete?"

Falco is badass. I swear he said "hands off my bread." Sounds cool though. Pit gave me goosebumps. Most of these voices won't be as bad once we get used to them. Plus it's mostly just grunts in battle anyways.

lol.

Guys I dunno what to do. I already have my preorder with toys r us but I want to go to the midnight tournament at gamestop too. It seems silly to go to the bootleg tournament and then wait in line with toys r us, which is close by, until the next day so I can use my preorder when I could get it basically the night before. I dunno if I can return it though, and it has been 2 months since I bought it.

Btw, people are lining up for tomorrow's tournament right now, I'm gonna try to get down there as soon as I can, I'll post about my exp when I get back.

For all those of you who have already played it, how are the other control schemes like? Obviously the gamecube one is the standard one that I'm sure almost everyone will be using, but I'm curious as to how the other 3 methods hold up and if there any advantages to using them? For example, is Snake's FS easier to aim since you can point with the wii remote instead of using the analog stick?

Alrighty, I'm back from the tournament, and I had a blast. I lost though, but its ok, the match was great.
I'm just going to paste my LJ entry because I'm too tired to type much.

"I am back from the WPI Smash Bros Brawl Tournament, and I lost on my first round XD.
I have absolutely no regrets though, I had a lot of fun, and the match was a close 3 - 4 . For my first time at it I think I did pretty good, the character I chose was Diddy.

No excuses here, I gave it my best, and I look forward to next Saturdays Gamestop tournament.
(Also I got some free stuff, and free stuff is always awesome!)"

I don't mind the addition of Wolf or Falco, but ALL THREE OF THEM with the SAME FUCKING MOVESET, EVEN FINAL SMASH...it's a little more than I can take.

Typical? How so? And why is it disappointing that I use him?

I love Marth. In melee, he's my favorite/best, but I play with Ice Climbers, Samus, Young Link, Sheik, and Dr. Mario all the time. Marth is just my go-to guy when I feel like beating everyone down.

In Brawl, Marth will probably be my best as well, but I'm planning on using Wolf, Luigi, Olimar, Kirby, Toon Link, Ike, Meta Knight, Lucario, and Diddy Kong.

You haven't looked into them enough if you think they have the same moveset.
