Well I just picked up Medal of Honor Heroes 2 today. Planned on getting both it and Umbrella Chronicles but the only copies of UC they had were preorders. :/

ANyway, MoH:H2 is pretty decent and IGN was pretty accurate in it sporting even better controls than MP3: Corruption, mainly because it boasts just as tight a layout but on top of that allows the option to resize the bounding box as you see fit so there is no excuse about that being a problem; at least in this game.  Single player wise, pretty decent thus far and the way it plays reminds me a lot more of the earlier MoH titles as well as European Assault; not sure what the heck happened with the other games but I didn't like them at all, so I'm digging the style of this one.  The gesture based controls for various weapons seems somewhat silly at first, but they work pretty darn well despite some of the motions you have to make.  As such, the shotgun is still a fav. of mine since you get to actively make the pump action to cock it - silly as I mentioned before, but it feels good after blasting a dude in the face and then going in for another round.

Online wise, for a Wii game it's...well, the only online FPS on the system and pretty bare bones overall (only deathmatch, team deathmatch and CTF) despite EA hosting the online service instead of Nintendo's for it.  Everything runs smoothly, lag free, 32 players, arenas are pretty varied and the game makes changes accordingly to balance the field of battle as people drop out and jump into games freely as a match is going on.

I don't plan on putting much time into the online till Galaxy is done so I'm jumping in and out casually just to get a taste of how things are going.

That Ghost Squad game looks pretty sweet...even if you do need the Wii Zapper for it. Not sure if I'd like the on-rails shooting though.

What do you guys think of it?

Actually you don't need the Zapper to play it.  The Zapper isn't a standalone controller, merely a shell to house the Wii remote and nunchaku so that you have the form of a gun like peripheral to play such games with.  Every game that is compatible with the zapper can just as easily be played with the stand alone Wii remote and nunchaku or Wii remote alone.  I'm getting that Crossbow Training game on Monday so I can see what the zapper is like for myself; otherwise there are some third party peripherals out there I want to try that seem pretty awesome, like the shotgun one I saw featured on IGN not too long ago.

Yea, that makes sense. I heard about that other Wii shotgun-looking peripheral, and Game Informer said it's complete crap, so buy carefully!

Anyone play "Dementium: The Ward" for the DS? Does it play well? Is it a worthy time/money investment?

Alright, I guess I'll keep the shotgun thing in mind.  They have tons of gun peripherals by third parties so if that doesn't work out, I can just get a pistol looking one or something.  I'm just a fan of shotguns so that was a first choice type thing. :P

Anyway, made use of Toys R Us' Buy 2 get 1 Free deal today and picked up:

Zack and Wiki
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution

Later in the week when they get in Soul Calibur Legends, I'll be picking up that, RE: UC and Lego Star Wars Complete.  After gift cards and coupons I'll only be paying out $130 when all is said and done across six games.  Not bad. ;)

Ah, so Toys R Us is the store that has that deal. I saw an add the other day and forgot which store it was. Thanks for reminding me.

I'm going to get SMG, Battalion Wars 2, and something else on Wednesday (when does the deal end?). The third game will most likely be Zack and Wiki, but I'll see.

The deal ends Wednesday actually.  Also, good luck finding those games.  I'm not sure about other stores but my store got slammed and not many of the better games are available.

I had a feeling that might happen. Hopefully I'll get lucky and find SMG and another game or two.

Oh man, I hope you guys took notice of Geometry Wars: Galaxies. I've played this before, and it was really fun. Now that it has actual PROGRESSION and co-op I bet it'll be addicting as hell.

Not only that, but apparently the DS version of the game links up with the Wii version to unlock bonus content!

This is SO going to be my action-fix for the Wii this Christmas (especially since Soulcalibur Legends has been getting some pretty bad reviews).

Have any of you guys played those games? Would you recommend them? Or would you recommend another action-type game for the Wii?

I got that particular title the first instant I saw it available. The beauty of it is how much addictive play you can get out of such a modestly priced title. The co-op uses separate stages so it is more limiting than the single-player mode, but you do get a helper bot in single-player that you can train and upgrade various behaviors for. (For those of you that cheat all your DS games: I can personally confirm that the DS game still links up to the wii even when running from a flash card)

DS RPG'S

Valkirie Profile
Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia

And if your really lucky Lufia: curse Of The Sinistals will be out this year. A remake of Lufia 2 on the snes except in 3D and is an action RPG instead of turn based. The Japanese version plays well so I can't wait for the English localisation.
