Hi everyone!

This is a film my friends and I made...it's an anime parody short.

In case you're curious I'm playing Sakura ^__~

When Ken is locked in detention with only a few friends and a pile of manga, he learns the meaning of "be careful what you wish for"

Pleeeassseee comment + rate + fave. It'll help us get our video watched. ^_____^ Otherwise, comment here so i can read! Oh, and please remember we're all just high school friends (some in grade 10)...I posted it on another forum and someone told us to hire a different director and cast O.o;.

If you're looking for a shorter film, we made another 1 minute video which you can watch here

hah, i thought it was pretty good, especially considering it's no-budget. and it seemed like you all had fun. the editing was pretty good and the film overall was interesting to watch. so even though it wasn't like HILARIOUS or THE BEST or anything, i'd encourage you to make more.

making short videos like that in high school can help you get a job later, actually. there's several people in my school district who made a lot of videos with school equipment and ended up getting jobs in film or continuing to make short films that got popular and won in film festivals. (maybe you've heard of them: Dave Conger and Tom Daguanno are the ones i can think of off the top of my head. my brothers know both of them and were in some of their early films.)
semper games.

I couldn't really hear what they were saying at some points: The music was too loud.

Medieve my buddy can you move this to the Film Media forum because this has nothing to do with your disgusting forum.

This was really good. (The first one, I haven't watched the second yet). If you want I'll put up a more extensive review (and we can always put it in the GW Film Thread in the Film Media forum).

thanks :). As it is, none of us are planning to go into film-making, though most of us are into some part of the entertainment industry, mostly as performers.

sorry...we had no microphones.

Thanks! And I'd love to read a more extensive review.

If at some point you have a minute to spare, I also suggest watching the second one ^___^

Editing was good too.

aw thanks!

Ahaha, I like how after Ken wakes up, it's silent for a few minutes, then the music just romps back in as he goes right back to reading :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention about the shouting girl and boy, I loled at the girl's face, at least some parts were humorous :)

I think this was pretty HQ (the appearance of the film I mean) and I hope we will find something interesting ;)

I hate you so much.

I expected jack shit, however this turned out to be really good. I cringed at the parts where they said the j-esque names, but it was great. I loled at the screaming and all that. Editing was nice and smooth.

Good work.

Haha you’re actually the first person who remembered Ken’s name.

…huh?

Aww…I’ll tell  her. I’m sure she’ll be glad to hear it.

What does HQ stand for?

I hate you so much.

lol aww thanks ^__^. Yah, the J-esque names were supposed to be bad…there was a part which would have made things make more sense but I had to cut it because it wasn’t allowed in catholic school...here it is in case you're interested:

[There is an explosion. Yoshiru puts his arm around Sakura]

SAKURA:
Yoshiru…

YOSHIRU:
How did you know my name?

SAKURA:
To tell you the truth- it’s me, Sakura.

YOSHIRU:
Sakura? But that’s impossible! Sakura always wears a PINK skirt- and shows way less cleavage.

SAKURA:
But it’s really me!

[she puts her hand over the top of her shirt. Yoshiru stops looking at her chest and stares up at her face]

YOSHIRU:
Oh my god! Sakura!

SAKURA:
Yoshiru I- I – I love you!

YOSHIRU:
But I thought you were in love with your female cousin, as evidenced in episodes 10 and 13-56.

SAKURA:
No!

Yoshiru- don’t you understand? This is the ENGLISH version.

YOSHIRU:
Is that why no one can pronounce my name?

SAKURA:
Yoshiru, listen to me!

As long as we're speaking english, me loving my cousin is completely inappropriate!

YOSHIRU:
How is us being twelve years old and in love any more appropriate?

 [another explosion]

Can you introduce me to your AZN friend?

You mean…me…? ---____---

Can you fuck off and die?

that made me lol.

I love you Japfags, you usually produce hilariously bad shite that I can laugh at for a few minutes (love that Game Ideas forum!). But this... was NOT hilariously bad shite, it was quite entertaining. Didn't watch the whole thing though 'cause I have ADD... probably. Good stuff though.

Needs more flashing screens behind characters if you get what I mean.

Aw thanks 

Yes, actually. We’ve been granted the equipment and opportunity to create a 56 minute comedy. While I don’t want to say much about the plot specifically, I can tell you it takes place in a backwater Canadian town, and is a satire of our society’s obsession with “getting ahead.” It pokes fun at video game addicts, DDR, the culture shock for new immigrants, the obsession with Japanese culture, and small town values.  (Just so you know, we’re all Canadian, which is why all our movies are set in Canada).

Thanks! We actually have six more videos which I’m working on uploading, and one more in the works!

Japfags? lol. MLAAA was just one film out of eight that we made ;). The others were all very Canadian…except one stop frame animation which was very Chinese since two of our group members are Chinese and we wanted to do an homage to our culture.

Anyways, I’m glad you liked it! ^__^. Flashing screens, hm? We were actually going to put more stuff behind them when they were screaming but we hit our deadline and needed to edit. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you have ADD check out our video “The Not So Great Tree Robbery.” It’s only 1:30. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dklq8QYFBwg

Amazingly non-shitty! Quite liked 'em. Loved the ending of the anime one where he falls, was epic. Could have been even more anime, with more flash and unreal haircuts, but hey, non-budget, good job, loved it! B&W one was real cool too, except for the overused punchline which everyone and his dog has already pulled about 20 times.

Alright these were pretty good. It was nicely condensed nad didn't show any more than it needed to while still getting all the jokes across in the small time it had. The only complaint like was mentioned already was that the sound mixing was off in that the music was way too loud.

The black and white one was kinda hilarious. Even though it felt a bit "regular", it was really only one gag and although it gave me a chuckle it wasn't all that exciting. But I do love me some black and white olde stuff and in that it did nicely.
