i was a long distance runner back when i ran track. usually i did the 1600, but sometimes i did the 3200. but yeah, anyway i was pretty good and ended up going to the junior olympics three times for the 1600. the best i ever got was sixth place but it's kind of cool just to say that i was able to participate in the pretend child olympics.

in order to qualify for the junior olympics you have to get 3rd place or higher in like two or three qualifier events. for some reason one year i was doing shotput and i got first in all the qualifier events because i was the only person doing them so i won by default. i could have gone to the junior olympics but i didn't want to embarrass myself.

my friend chris was an amazing short distance runner. i remember he was going to be in a nike commercial or something if he had run this one race like .3 seconds faster or something. it was pretty crazy.

PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT at a 5-a-side football tournament at my old school, out of 40 players. Basically, we organised 8 teams of five, and had a knockout competition over the course of a day. We quite unluckily came second, losing the final 2-1 to a last minute goal. I scored 7 goals, and set up most of the others for our team. A fine day! =D
