I didn't see a thread on here about it, so I decided to make one about this great show. It was one of the first anime I have watched and is still my favourite. I tried reading the manga, but I found it far too different and far from the show that I loved. Though I may give it another shot. I might need some input on that one though.

Yeah it is a bit older lol. Have you read the manga as well? I need to know if it is worth reading. If not Ill just keep my impression of the series based on the anime.

i love Trigun, but I've seen the anime WAY too many times :P.

EDIT: its better to think of the manga as a differant story with similar characters to the anime, and some of the same events.

I recommend that you read the manga too :]

One thing I like about Trigun is that it has a relatively original voice cast.  (read: not like most of ADV's shows)

That's very true. With the exception of the Black Ranger as Vash. I haven't heard the cast from any other show, and only one game...Thats right Izekeal. Star Ocean: Til The End of Time!!!! the two of us were watching different anime, and I kept telling him that voice actors were familiar but didn't remember what show i knew them from. So we'd pull up their page. And ALL of them were in Star Ocean: Til the end of Time and thats where I knew them from. It was kinda weird.

my brother showed me the first episode of this when I was like 13 and I seem to remember thinking it was total garbage but then that was 7 years ago maybe it's not garbage.

Well yeah, watching the first episode of anything won't give you the whole story.

I saw it a couple of years ago now and I thought that it was pretty good at the time. I'm gonna have to buy it, though but it'll have to wait until I get the rest of InuYasha.

Vash was awesome, though. And the preist dude - whose name I've forgotten. -_- Maybe I'll hit the manga up while I don't remember too much about it so that it won't be too affected by the anime. I'm in a bit of a manga phase at the moment.

Trigun is pretty boring. Like the guys read a book on HOW TO MAKE A GOOD SERIES, but couldn't be bothered to actually think about anything for themselves (kinda like GunXSword but not to the terrible extent of Inuyasha). Absolutely nothing about Trigun made it stand out in any respect, and the whole show drifted into mediocrity and cliches (I say drifted into... it started off that was as well).
