Wow, a lot of hate for the PS3.
A year ago; I would have suggested Wii and Xbox360. However, I do believe truly that the tide will turn this year in favour of PS3. It's currently bogged down with Warhawk, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, CoD4 etc. Next year will be BIG. As in, a ton of new and exciting games.

Wii and 360 are solid, though may suffer when the PlayStation kicks into high gear. That's all I'm saying. The above arguements are generally correct; however will be stale pretty soon.

Right. PS3's gonna get loads of great games next year and developers are gonna forget about 360 and Wii. I don't see it happening. PS3 is this generation's Gamecube.

So many systems...and games...

Couldn't it be like the old days? When there was only the SNES and Gensis? Lol...

At least the Xbox sold. PS3 is relying on first party exclusives that show up every few months with third party support dropping off. It's the Cube I tell you!

If you like RPGs then get a fucking 360.

If you like action games, then get a fucking 360.

If you like multiplayer games... GET A FUCKING 360.

If you like waiting for good games to come out, buy a ps3.

This. This so hard.

I can't think of a real reason to justify getting a PS3 right now. 360 is definitely the way to go. I'm having difficulties deciding what games I want for 360, because there are just so many good ones out there. PS3, sure, it will have good games. Eventually. If you don't want a 360, get a Wii or PSP. Wii is getting a lot better, as I consider it in the same boat as PS3. But they are getting the good games, now. PSP seems fun for homebrew, a lot of good games I would want to get, but I haven't modded my PSP yet. Wrong firmware, and I don't have lumines or GTA. :(

I own every console this generation so I'll give you my thoughts on all of them...

Wii: I've had quite alot of fun with it & I hate "casual" party games. It really seems that all of the good "hardcore" games have came from Nintendo (I thought Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy & Metroid Prime 3 were the best of there series) so you really shouldn't expect much on the RPG front although I have a feeling that sooner or later there will be a good FPS or two. Personally I'm looking forward to No More Heroes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl & Tales of Symphonia 2 (there's 1 RPG for ya) which is well over enough games from one system for me. Also Resident Evil 4 was remade for Wii (best version imo) & Okami (I expect Okami to look even better & the drawing mechanic will probably work great with the wii) is coming out for it later. So if you missed these 2 games (which are some of the best games in the history of video games) the 1st time around you have a 2nd chance.

PS3: Y'know I loved my PS1 & PS2 (in fact I still have RPGs to play from both of them) & it was that love that led to me buying a PS3 but to tell you the truth I'm not that happy with it. I mean sure we can expect more exclusive games in the future Final Fastasy XIII, LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, White Knight Story, Star Ocean 4 (I'm not sure if this will be exclusive or for the PS3 for that matter), the eventual God of War 3 but if you're a now type of guy then right now PS3's library sucks.

XBox360: I've loved my XBox360 ever since I first got it & the awesome Dead Rising. There's countless great games on it (especially if you like FPS & action games) & I've got a strong feeling that this & the DS are gonna be the eastern RPG systems this generation. Blue Dragon (good imo), Eternal Sonata (it was ok but could have been better) & Enchanted Arms (I hated it but some people like it) are already out on the system & then there's Lost Odyessy (which looks like it's gonna be great) & Infinite Undiscovery (stupid name but looks interesting) coming next year. Not only that if you like western RPGs then Xbox360 certainly has you covered with Oblivion (I'm addicted to this game) & Mass Effect not to mention Fallout 3 & Too Human coming next year. To tell you the truth I bought a XBox 360 at first simply because I heard Panzer Dragoon Orta was finally playable on it (I love railshooters like Star Fox & Panzer Dragoon) & I figured I might as well get the new system to play it instead of the old one which had very few games other than PDO that I cared about. I'm glad it turned out to be a great console (because if not that would have been a very stupid move on my part).

DS: You didn't mention this so I won't say much about it but imo the DS is way better than the PSP as far as games go. I mean when it first came out & everybody was trying to make their games completely touch screen I thought it was gonna turn out a piece of shit but now that it has a near limitless amount of great games in almost every genre out & coming soon I think it's the strongest system this generation.

PSP: Has some pretty great RPGs & alot of great remakes of games you may have missed the first go round. Brave Story is pretty awesome as well as Valkeryie Profile Lenneth & Jeanne D'Arc. Tales of the World: Radient Mythology could have been better but if you like Tales games it's ok. I wouldn't recommend Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions if you have any way at all of finding & playing the original. The new cutscenes & translation just aren't worth it with all the damn slowdown that happens when you use highly graphical skills. If you can read Japanese then there's also some great games on that front (I have both Princess Crown & Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII which are pretty good. I think CC is coming out in english though). But to tell you the truth even with all this I mainly use it for emulation on the go & my PSP has been all but overshadowed by my DS.
