This just arrived and I'm bursting my sides of happiness now...

Make this a Sandman thread because "The Sandman" is probably the only good thing left of DC/Vertigo and also because this forum is too full of japfag kekekekeke.

...o...jesus..

I read the first tradepaper back and loved it. Obviously Neil Gaiman is like the greatest writer ever. I'd collect the singles if I wasn't born so late.

I kinda disagree with the lack of good comics from DC/Vertigo. Theres plenty of good modern stuff. Scalped, American Virgin, etc etc.

Maybe I'll take some recommendations later on, then... I don't think I have seen any good stuff lately.

Man, you should've gotten Absolute Sandman instead of the originals! They reworked the colors and the art looks like five times better from what I've seen. I haven't actually bought it yet, but Gaiman was showing off scans comparing the two on his blog.

I mean the originals are great for bragging rights/nostalgia/whatever, but it looks like Absolute Sandman is going to be the better experience.

It's not really the originals, though. The originals were each 25-page issue...
Also, Absolute sandman is A LOT MORE expensive and I didn't think it would be really worth it (This was about $10 per issue, Absolute Sandman is $50 per) also I think Absolute Sandman isn't completely out yet.

Edit: I forgot to add that since I live in South america, the shipping is pretty expensive.

I seem to recall seeing better examples, but here's a comparison of the new colors vs. the old ones: http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2006/06/sunday-morning-again.html
