You're not getting what I'm saying. The Internet as a 'powerful tool' only applies if the user is actually USING the Internet as a powerful tool. If they're just abusing it, wasting time with it, or if it's cutting into other life matters, then they need to pull themselves away from it. Take my younger brother for instance. All he did on the Internet was play games, watch porn, and just dicked around on the internet, ALL DAY. Didn't do his chores, didn't do his homework, didn't do too much of anything. So my folks took away his Internet privileges, with the small exception of school projects. No matter how powerful a tool is, if you abuse it, you need to limit yourself to it.

Yeah, I agree with this.  The internet is only a powerful tool if the user decides to use it as one, instead of say...porn, gaming, flash games, BEJEWELED, etc.

Real quick; I agree with Jeff, but talking to people on IRC is, sorry, no replacement for real life interaction. They are not the same thing. And yeah, the internet is powerful and what not, but if Fatty is using it for the wrong reasons that are like IMPACTING HIS LIFE (too much WoW) then I totally understand where his parents are coming from.

UPDATE: Still no internet at home, but I talked about it with my parents and they agreed to reactivate it after a week or two(or sooner than that, depending on how things work out.) Till then, see you all!
