Wait, so when was common sense ever acquired from a game?  He just did the most realistic thing he could have done in that situation.

Site isn't working for me, by the way.

Woops, did the BB code the wrong way around.

EDIT: your right, it kinda makes kids nowadays seem stupid that they need to be taught common sense by a game.

LOL almost sounds like it's a scene from a childrens-having-adventures movie but what were they doing in a moose infested area in first place??

I'm pretty sure WoW didn't pioneer taunting and faking death so this kid is probably promoting WoW so his parents will pay for his account some more. This is still an awesome story though.

Well, obviously the kid had some balls to begin with - something a game couldn't teach you.  I don't care how many dungeons he's traversed.

But common sense would be trying to divert the animal's attention instead of attacking it.

this kid is fucked up if he does something like this and his first thought is THIS IS JUST LIKE WOW

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I like how when it's something positive then people are willing to admit that videogames can teach or influence people to do things, but when it's something negative then people vehemently deny any connection.

i wrote a really sarcastic argumentative reply to this, reread your post and realised i misunderstood it.

drat.

I play a lot of Soul Calibur so whenever I am attacked by wild creatures I bend over backwards and crab walk at them, then I lunge at them and explode (I play as Voldo).

I think this kid didn't so much learn how to taunt/play dead from WoW as much as it made him think it would work for sure; a lot of people wouldn't have the balls to taunt the thing and then lay down in front of it. But I guess since he saw it in a video game he was sure he could do it in real life!

I'm interested if he had an over the top death animation, or he just laid down on the ground.

Wait a second.  The kid told the story.  That probably means that he exaggerated it, and probably it was like a doe that "attacked" his sister and him.
