Can anyone tell me the name of some good Snes RPGs? Off the top of my head, I can remember playing Every FF released for snes in North America, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, EarthBound, Secret of Evermore,  Chrono Trigger, Tales of Phantasia (GBA port), Lufia 2, Breath of Fire 1 and 2 and maybe Illusion of Gaia.

Yeah Chrono Trigger was on SNES, to my knowledge (Which may not be much). I'd suggest Rudra's Treasure, if you haven't played it yet, because it's pretty good, well, to my standards it is.

If you liked Illusion of Gaia, play Soul Blazer and Terranigma. Also, Seiken Densetsu 3.
Anyway... I played a bit of this... And I'm not so fond of the setting. I hate that whole ghetto "gangsta fo life" thing, and I've never been much of a baseball player.

Rudra's Treasure is about 4 characters (Which you can name, and I'm pretty sure they have differen't stories) which, basically, RPG around. Basically killing enemies, et cetera, but with a pretty good plot, but has a pinch of cliche in there. Haven't played much of it, so I can't really tell anyone much of it.

EDIT: Not sure about if it's more than 4 characters or less, can't recall.

Same happened to me, but it does get much better after a while. Did you get to the part where you go after all the mana crystals? That's where it really starts to pick up.

Bahamut Lagoon is pretty good, although it after a while it felt like it was just dragging on.
Anyway... I played a bit of this... And I'm not so fond of the setting. I hate that whole ghetto "gangsta fo life" thing, and I've never been much of a baseball player.

Lufia II or Seiken Densetsu 3. Both are really awesome.

Rudra's Treasure\Treasure Of The Rudras is about four seperate people and their parties who basically do a lot of shit (not spoiling anything here) over a period of 15 days. You can choose any character you want, but you have to finish all 4 of them in the end. Funny thing is, if you're playing one of the characters, all the actions that would happen in the stories of the other characters will happen automatically. For example, Riza's story has you purifying the polluted air in the world around day 2\3. So when you hit day 2\3 in the other stories, the air gets purified. It's pretty well-done.

And the magic system has you write something (anything will do) and the game will convert it into a spell. There are some keyphrases which will give your spell certain effects, but you can just ignore that. It's pretty awesome.

EDIT: And as said before, you should try Soul Blazer, Terranigma and Lufia II.

Metal Max Returns was just recently translated (if you can get the patch to work.) There's also Shin Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei 2 (the patches are on that same site), but play those only if you're REALLY hardcore. There's also the strategy/rpg Cyber Knight games, Live-a-Live, Seiken Densetsu 3, Secret of Mana, Dragon Squadron: Danzarb, Super Robot Wars 3, and Monstania.
Television show I'm currently obsessed with:

You see Diane Rigg in this show? Rawr!

Ok im pretty psyched about Rudra's Treasure, so ill give that a shot first. The way it was described about having to do each character's story, reminds me of SaGa Frontier. I dunno if its anything like that, but that kinda comes to mind. Though the magic sounds pretty interesting.

Edit: Oh God. Square did Rudra's Treasure? I should love this game. Call me what you want, but in the SNES days Square knew how to make a damned good game.

I third (I think?) Rudras. It's a stunning game-- sounds great, looks great, plays well. The encounter rate is a little high and the game can be unforgiving but it's an astonishingly fun romp. Hell, it has mermaids and lizards and demi-god kings and ninjas as PCs. The only SNES game that can beat that is Romancing SaGa 3, I'm pretty sure (that's the one with the elephant, right?)!

Also holy shit Lufia 2 has the best dungeons in any bird's-eye-view RPG ever.

If you like DQ, DQ6 is a DUH. It's kind of out there for the series, though. I've found that it's a lot more... personal? I dunno, somebody more versed in DQ mythos can explain better.

=========
Rudras also has a zombie PC. Spoiler (question for people who have played the game):

I have only played Dragon Quest 8 for PS2. But I imagine it's like FF in the sense I can just jump in anywhere in the series cuz the stories are continuing, from game to game.

Star Ocean if you can find the english and graphics patches. Great game. Has a few bugs in some versions and it's hard to find a complete english patch that is proper. Still a great game, though.

Dragon Quest/Warrior IV, V, VI. Love this series. They're like Final Fantasy with better storylines... in some ways.

Breath of Fire. First one is pretty good but the second is the best imo. It was also the first RPG I ever played so I may be biased. It has cat/frog/tree/monkey people (and more)! What's not to love?

Terranigma. Great game. Lots of fun to play... not the typical RPG romp. One character party but allt he characters are really well developed. Best played with a controller, though.

Lufia was a little lacklustre but Lufia II is ace and has a 100 floor random dugeon that you'll lose hours in. One of my all time faves. Also has killer puzzles, great characters, 2 New Game pluses and PETS!

Earthbound. Only just got it myself after hearing angryblackman and others rant about it. It's been pretty good so far. A bit wacky though.

Magic Knight Rayearth. One of the first 'girly' RPGs, I think. Pretty good. A typical 'save the princess' storyline that turns out non-typical.

Secret of the Stars. Pretty old but still fun to play. Surprisingly addictive once you get in to it. General save the world plot, but enjoyable none the less.

Secret of Evermore. Great game! Lots of fun trying to find those alchemy ingredients and spells. Time/Parallel universe travel with your dog.

Secret of Mana. Another great game! Lots of fun saving the world. And flying luck dragons to boot. ^.^ The battles are fun and the general feel of the game... great!

Illusion of Gaia/Time. A pretty good game. Some interesting bosses. Reminded me of good ol' Link and Zelda a tad.

Chrono Trigger. Best game eva! Or something like that. If you haven't played you need pity. Frogs and time travel. ^.^

Dual Orb. Hard to find an english patch for it but well worth the looking for. Another save the world plot but still nice. Eye candy, too.

7th Saga. It's okay. The encounter system is one of my favourites. Not exactly pretty to look at though, but good gameplay.

Zelda, anyone? A classic. Link battles it out to defeat teh ebil!

All worth getting. Yep.

Rudra's Treasure had a pretty great premise, decent music, and really nice graphics, but the game itself is absolutely atrocious.

Like, the battle system is about as functional as the RPGMaker DBS. The most exciting things you're going to see out of it are the weapons that hit more than one enemy per round. It's not like Final Fantasy 6, where you had this huge variety of really cool shit to use, like Blitz/Jump/Steal/whatever, or items like the Genji Glove and Offering. The fighting in this game entirely boils down to "whats this guy's weak element", wearing the newest equipment, and healing every 3 turns.

yeah, so basically the most fun part of Rudra's Treasure is

putting rude shit into the mantra system. FUCKBONERS

As far as what I would recommend though, Treasure Hunter G, Robotrek, Live A Live and especially Terranigma are all really really good. Terranigma has one of the best endings for any game ever.

Definately Terranigma and Lufia 2. I highly recommend Terranigma, though.
Dual Orb 2 was great as well, the graphics are very similar to FF6, and the battle system is nice. The music doesn't disappoint, either.

And Rudra's Treasure is hard as hell later on in the game. Maybe it's just me, but I find myself going to gamefaqs everytime I fight a boss trying to see what to do. If not, I will use WARKIPEREU!!
Yeah.
