Am I the only one who finds drinking/smoking up alone sad?

It'll be 2008 here in another two and a half hours (I live in Chicago). I'm home alone watching my little brother right now but my girlfriend's stopping by after work at 11 PM, so I'll be spending new year's with her.

Drinking alone may or may not be sad... Not the same having a whisky on the rocks, relaxing, listening to good music than I don't know... Downing two six-packs of cheap beer to get wasted...

I woke up 12am on the spot, for some reason, and then my friend IM'd me on my laptop a second later, which I happened to pass out right next to.
Also we had homemade nachos, and enjoyed some tingly grape juice.
