I'm surprised there isn't a topic for this movie... but then I guess GW isn't a fan of sappy Keira Knightly films. Except this one isn't sappy at all, it's pretty tragic.

When I walked into the movie theater friday night, I was expecting some kind of epic love story where two lovers are ripped apart by war, but it wasn't really that at all, it was pretty incredible and unexpected. It definitely wasn't some kind of Jane Austen story, and I know this because I was sucked in within the first five minutes of the movie.

Trailer:
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tRolm4oSSw0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tRolm4oSSw0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

So anyone happen to see this? Or maybe want to see it now! I definitely definitely cried at the end haha.

I should have read the book before I saw the movie... I'm kind of wondering if it's worth reading now (It's normally that way anyways).

And YES Keira Knightly, I thought she did a brilliant job.

It was pretty decent, I suppose. I didn't like the way it was put together, but that's probably due to the novel. But the rest was to a decent level, James McAvoy was good as usual. I just felt the film should've ended when

But obviously the saving grace of this film is the incredible five minute long shot on the beach. Just, wow.

I like movies about the First World War, are there any battle scenes or interesting military-related content?

this is not the movie you're looking for if you want military stuff. there's some, yeah, but it's definitely not the focus of the movie.

i really liked this movie, but i'm a huge sucker for keira knightley. i liked the whole two perspective thing they did in a few scenes and of course the five minute beach shot is amazing.

Can somebody please explain to me why everyone seem to have a curse in which makes them think Keira Knightly is good looking?

I dunno, I think this is hot:

Accent doesn't hurt either.

I will admit that shes not always that nice looking and her teeth bug me, but I still think shes far from ugly.

She looks like Celine Dion in that picture. And in movies she looks almost EXACTLY like Natalie porman
But anyway I think she is very pretty!

Same here really. It was a good movie I guess... but I didn't enjoy it. I found it to be as boring and disinteresting as listening to an old man with a stutter talking about his life story. I have no idea what it was. I imagine the book made it work though.
And in case you're wondering, I enjoy all kinds of slow, arty, confusing, complex, etc etc movies... but obviously not this one.  :fogetnah:

p.s i am in this movie.

i'm not even lying, they filmed the beach scene on MY beach, and asked for extras from the locals.

best £100 i ever earned.
