How many times are SE going to release the same frickin' game? They should just make some new games. Although I've heard Children of Mana is terrible and that Heroes of Mana isn't anything great... The DS needs more RPGs that are actually good.

Try Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker?  It's my favorite DS game and while it's extremely by-the-numbers, it's definitely not a straight-up remake or port and is really good.

It's the game I'm currently playing while I'm taking the train to college. It's pretty good so far, and rather difficult too. It's nothing great but it's far from bad.

I must concur. There was a time when I was a huge Square fanboy, but that time is long gone. The constant storm of re-releases and overenthusiastic fan-handjobs eventually started to really grate on me. Now I'm keen on Atlus, which has some really great games and some horridly mediocre games, but the good games are genuinely good, rather than most of what Square's been pumping out lately.

I actually don't really care about this because FFIV is really bad. Like when I played it in 1993 or whatever I thought it was great. I continued thinking that until last year when I played it again. Man, it is so awful. The story is terrible, the characters are uninteresting, the battle system is boring, the dungeon design is dull, and there are random battles literally every 2-4 steps! The whole game is just a series of crappy dungeons, with a couple lines of unremarkable dialogue in between.

It's like a hybrid between the more story-driven RPGs that came after it and the pure dungeon romps that came before, but it's not good at either so you never really feel satisfied. Breath of Fire I came before it (I think) and did it all better.

I thought the characters were the most interesting set of characters since FFIV. Cecil and Kain alone were probably more realistic and heroic in the traditional sense of the word than any Final Fantasy cast to date.

Man, why the fuck do GOOD things like this come out on DS, its like they forgot that there is the  PSP too. Fucking square.

Except the fact, that Star Ocean 1 and 2 are being released for it, as well as Crisis Core, and KH: Birth by Sleep

If I get a new DS by the time this comes out I might buy it...
Remember, if its cold enough in your room to make your jaw spaztic its probably not the BEST idea to open your DS. ;_; R.I.P.
