final fantasy IV was a really awful game. granted it was supposedly a GAMING FIRST in many ways but jesus it was horrible. i'm really not interested in trying this at all!

I sorta feel like this, and sorta don't. FF4 (the original versions) had possibly the dumbest dialogue ever and the coherence of the story seemed lacking at parts. It was also pretty short, iirc. But, even though it was all that stupid and all that, I couldn't help but feel like it was OVERLY EPIC, and there are LOTS of things about it I love, while I know it was pretty retarded anyway. That being said, just because of those weird mixed feelings I get playing it, it's my favorite FF out of the bunch. I also love the music in it. (my two fave songs are from it, fuck ff7 LOL ONE WING DICKHOLE. this game has the prologue song(which is used in other games like the wii cc that is upcoming i think and the title screen for ff12) and )

Now, the GBA remake was terrible. It was worse than the SNES version in alot of ways, and worse than some RPGMaker games in others. It had a trait similiar to terrible rm2k games: at some points, you could step on a tile repeatedly and the event would take place again and again. Anyway..

Now this. I did expect it to be SMARTER and more PROFESSIONAL than in the past, and from what I hear, it is. I had some trouble adapting to the style at first, but I feel good about it now. I do hope the story makes alot more sense now. But then again, I wouldn't care so much.

I'm gonna try playing it on emulators, and see if it works good. :)

Hey on the topic of music, I need to find the soundtrack to this one. And try comparing. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Hurrah for owning both a DS and a PSP. This game looks inviting, I never beat FFIII for the DS I got stuck against a boss. But this game should be easy because... c'mon, its Final Fantasy Fucking Four!

I just started playing this after not using my DS for quite some time, and I am kind of disappointed in the graphics. This is the type of game that could look great on a psp, there really is no reason to put it on a DS other than the bigger market share which is kind of a shame. The animations are very stale and even lacking in some areas, and the textures and models are very plain. The voice acting is pretty good though. There are also some FOV issues when they zoom in on characters. Maybe I am just used to widescreen monitors and fancy graphics, but I feel a lot of this is due to the DS's lack of power.

I also don't feel compelled at all to beat this, just to play it for like 4 hours at most to get a feel of it and see what they have done. Good thing I don't have to pay for this sh*t, because that's what it is!

(also my ds is really starting to crack pretty bad on the hinge.. plus i have the yellow tint on my bottom screen .. F____ck nintendo)

edit: I really like the menu, but I think there is another poor design choice in its speed (might even be ds lagging). It takes something like a half a second for things to slide in, it should take something like .25 sec. Stuff like this bothers me because I don't want to waste time playing game, I just want to get through it as fast as possible!

They've made the best changes they could to this game without actually hurting the core game itself, at least in my opinion. I agree this would be so much better on the PSP, but for the first time I'm actually PLAYING my DS. The backgrounds and textures are very plain, which is simply because of the DS's lack of power. It's still one of the more prettier games on the DS out there(though that isn't saying much).

One other thing that bugs me is that in dungeons, I'm looking at the bottom screen too frequently. Maybe it's because I need to get that 100% on the map, but literally everything is shown on the bottom of the screen. You can get through areas without looking at the top one at all. That's my only real complaint so far. They really couldn't improve this game more in my opinion unless they actually made it for the PSP with improved graphics.

This is some very impressive voice acting too. I don't remember the scene with Tellah and Edward being so funny. The dialogue is so much better than before.

They didn't actually voice the battle portion of it, but everything after that part was voiced.
It pretty much played out the same as the original, just with enhanced dialogue and nice voice acting.

Best remake EVER! Also, I noticed that Cecil's voice sounds like .hack//GU's Haseo O.O

Anyways, I personally think this is a good looking DS title. Also, I wouldn't mind a FF5 upgrade because it NEEDS one(FFV is still a good FF though).

Edit: One thing that did annoy me was the replacement of Cecil's "Dark Wave" power with "Darkness". Now most of you might find darkness better, but dark wave helped out alot in mist cave as it hit all enemies and made that area alot easier. Darkness however is stronger but only hits 1 enemy. It was helpful against mist dragon though, but that's an easy boss either way.

If I buy a DS, this would definitely be the reason.  I loved FF4.  The remake looks fantastic.

I just started playing this on my R4DS when I got home from work, and I'm up to the mist-dragon boss. So far, it seems to be a pretty wicked remake of FFIV. The voice acting is pretty good so far too.

I bought this yesterday and I like it a lot!  The difficulty is definitely super fine-tuned and is constantly engaging.  I think the graphics are great and super charming but yeah I can see how some people wouldn't get past the low-res textures and everything.  I definitely agree that the menues are a little laggy, but I think I can survive with it.

oh man.....if there is a Chrono Trigger remake on the DS i'm going to fart with joy.

maybe thats why sqenix gave all those cease and decease letters to people making remakes of CT, because they themselves will be doing one! FFIII, FFIV, CT.

ok most of my post is false hope but IT WOULD BE SO COOOL
