My wife and I live in a single room with her parents, because we have no money.  It's not that bad, but I can't ever seem to be satisfied with the arrangement of furniture and crap.

It currently looks like this:

That image was done in Google Sketch Up, which is a 3d modeling program that is free and awesome.  It is EXACTLY to scale. (Except for details.  Those are approximated.)

I'm hoping the talented members of Gaming World can stretch their homosexual interior design muscles and figure out an arrangement of furniture for this particular room that actually works.  We may need to figure out how to cram a crib in there in the near future, so keep that in mind.

Sketch Up can be found here: http://sketchup.google.com/

The SKP file containing our room and everything in in can be found here: http://www.gamingw.net/pubaccess/23029/bedroomsketchup.zip

Feel free to remove any piece of furniture which you feel can go.  You can also add pieces of furniture that we don't own yet that you believe would work nicely in that room.

Go crazy.  Nothing is off limits here (Except for porn and stuff.  Stay in school.)  Post images of your design in this thread, or just post a link containing the modified SKP file.

Sketch Up is so easy to use, that anyone's grandma can learn it in less than 5 minutes, so don't think that you aren't a 3d artist.  If you can use a mouse, then Sketch Up is probably going to be second nature to you.

for feng shui i think we need to know the layout of your entire house, which i wouldn't recommend divulging online!

or do you just want us to decorate it etc? (dick wallpaper)

I didn't literally mean "feng shui".  I simply meant rearrange the furniture, decorate (yes, you may use dick wallpaper if you so desire... *sigh*)  Things like that.  No furniture arrangement seems to work with this room, and I have a feeling that the reason is simply my own design incompetence.

I'll select a design, use it, take pictures, and post them here.

You can't expect us to feng-shui such a small room! Theres barely room for a living room (i'm assuming its a living room.), everything should go - thus making room for a broom closet, move things to a bigger room = feng-shuied!

I tried to fix your room but I just made the bookshelves sink into the floor, broke your computer, and made all your walls smash on an angle into the floor

It's a bedroom, though one that serves more purposes than just a bedroom.  It's primarily a bedroom, still.

You win!  :fogetbackflip:

The program takes a moment to get used to.

Paint the walls lavender and do a thick horizontal line thru the whole 4 wall of a much much lighter lavender tone at a height a bit over your waist. Below that line design vertical lines every [you ][/you] inches to form columns. those lines also with lighter lavender.
Now paint the furniture white and then paint it with this shit I dont know what it is called but makes it brighter, as if it reflects the light more. There is some white paint that already comes with this shit.
If you want you can paint the conputer desk of another color if you conputer happens to be black (ugly contrast with white desk imo).
Now hang some photos of you faggots in gay moments such as smiling in front of the anal camera all round the room with eclectic positioning. Lined up photos is boring as nun tits.

Oh you don't have money, well you're fucked

That would be difficult, considering my wife and I are of opposite genders.

It's a rental, so no painting, though lighter colored furniture would make it look a little bigger.

Move the top-most bookshelf next to the computer against the same wall. Move the other bookshelf where the previously moved bookshelf was. Move the little brown thing next to the newly moved bookshelf. Then you can put the baby crib next to the little brown thing. Of course if you want some more storage space that it out of sight, you could switch one of the bookshelves in the living room with the little brown thing in the closet(?). This is going purely off the picture.

EDIT: The bookshelf looks like it is just small enough to be able to fit through the door to the closet(?).

Nope.  It can be anywhere.  I have a nice long cable to plug in the DSL.

cover your room in mirrors
wedge your bookshelves between your bed and the wall and put everything you don't often use on the now unaccessable shelves

And on that note, mirrors make a room look BIGGER, try putting a few mirrors in. (It won't be feng-shui'd if you sleep facing one of them, though! But yes, lighter colours and mirrors make a room look bigger. (While writing this post I misspelled "Mirrior" at least 5 times.)

And I didn't download the program because I have dialup. :fogetshrug:

This is awkward as you have an overly large glass door(?) and a cabinet where your bed could ideally go..I'll see what I can doooooo
