Ok, so I need to find a program that will let me tag files with diff things so I can organize my 8 gb of field recordings from december of 06 till the present.  Example:

a recording of a pastor in church would be tagged w/ Dialogue (Male), Dialogue, and Religious.  I'd like to be able to sort/view files by any of those tags.  I dont want to use ID3 cause it doesnt really do what I want.

Any suggestions?

Seconding this. I'd love to find a program that was just meant for tagging and searching files that are already sitting on a file system somewhere.

I use SmartFolders.  I've always wondered why someone didn't think of it sooner.

Yeah, that program is pretty fantastic.  Only gripe is that i cant use the BACKSPACE KEY and I dont think i can drag files out of it into programs.
