I lost my achievements yesterday morning, but it hasn't happened since.

I lost my achievements yesterday morning, but it hasn't happened since.

Ive been keeping a close (obsessive) watch on the steam forums. Apparently, there was some kind of mistake. They meant to erase the achievements on those who had exploited the command to get the achievements.

A mass mailed apology was sent out,

I log on to find I have 38/39, with all weapons unlocked. I only had 25/39, but I guess this is their way of apologizing? Its not like I was outraged or anything.

I kind of feel bad now.

Yeah, I used the command the morning after it came out, and they were erased that afternoon.  I'm hoping they don't end up erasing them or anything, since First Do No Harm was a pain in the ass to get legitimately.

A bunch of mine are full, but grayed out, like the kill 50 scouts, or the bonesaw 10 medics.

I just got a pretty good computer so I have been playing this quite a bit recently, its a lot of fun at not 10fps! Anyway I really like playing soldier and spy, and I really dislike medic so far. Other than that I don't think I've played enough of the other classes.

What he said.  I never really played medic apart from getting the Team Doctor Achievement before I heard about the new weapons.  But after playing, the Medic is my 3rd most played class (Heavy and Pyro, take first and second), I also usually end up at the top of the scoreboards too.

I also got the Critzkrieg the other day, and I am not at all disappointed with it.  A surprise Critz Pyro will absolutely RAPE YOUR TEAM.  Heres a quick scenario:

1. Medigun Medic Charges Heavy, while Critzkreig Medic Charges Pyro
2. Heavy prepares along the main passage into the base, Pyro prepares along one of the other ways
3. Heavy gets ubered and your team charges
4. Pyro get Critz'd and charges
5. Most attention being drawn by the heavy, the pyro can sneak in and clear the point off.
6. You win because it takes 20 seconds for RED to respawn.

I generally prefer to be one of the classes that is busy making things blow up or running around stabbing people.

me and goat were on a server for a bit and i was pyro and he was medic. it was the third phase of dustbowl and we were on defense, we were standing in the corner between the two doors and like 3 ubers ran passed us and didn't even look at us, so goat waits like 4 seconds then uses his kritz and we charge in and killed like 3 snipers, and an eng or something. we run out just as all the uber heavies are wearing off and we destroyed all of them and their medics it was so amazing

And it's virtually impossible to counter. Before sentries could keep uber heavies at bay, but now with crit + uber they are ridiculously easy to destroy and can't do shit anymore.

It takes decent coordination to do it though, and if RED is prepared, the Pyro is still pretty easily taken out by a demo or soldier firing.  It is shit like that though that will keep medics at a 1 per team limit in tournament play.

Yeah, but the fire was drawn towards the heavy-medic/8 other teammates charging, and no one noticed me and the pyro.  I see what you mean though.
Also, I was playing on a clan server ( =eGO= ) server to be specific, and its usually two fairly organized teams against each other, unless all of the =eGO= people get on one side, then the other team consists of three people trying to keep an organized attack/defense, while the others are too busy being being cunt gogglers.

Ubersaw fuckin' owns  :gwa:. Me and my friend got this awesome system. He'll uber me and I'll smack people with it to get full uber, then uber him and he smacks people to charge his. We got up to 6 chained ubers in a row like this:

Not only does ubersaw have a slower attack speed, but a ubered melee-only medic isn't exactly the most dangerous unit to uber. Not only is his damage output lower than most other units, but he'd have to resort to melee only. That makes it very difficult against turrets, and very easy to run from (or shoot a rocket/grenade at to slow down). And all you need is less than 4 hits with the bonesaw and the chain is broken, and even then you're still vulnerable in between them. This is a fun tactic to run around pubs and smack some people around with, but any sort of scrim or clan match would easily find a way to stop it. Not to mention you would also be taking two medics away from any sort of team healing for the duration.

I had a little fun being a Soldier again after not being one in a very long time. I had a friend as a medic critzkreig me the whole round, which pretty much destroyed the other team. Sentries go down in two hits, and as long as you've got a little bit of cover you can take out at least a half dozen people with it. I've yet to try a pyro with it, but I'm sure they're just as powerful with it.
Recently though I've been playing only spy. There seems to be a lot more Heavy and Medic combos now so I keep getting around 2-5 backstabs before I die.
