Is this for real? This is the same hell song from Cave Story... among other things that are fishy about it.
Haha! Yeah it's for real. He turned off the game's own music before and during the boss, and after, uh, it, and played shit on winamp instead. (Because hell temple's music is bloody annoying) Also, he looked up the answers to all the puzzles and where the traps were and shit which is why he knows what's coming up all the way until the final room. (Because hell temple is bloody annoying) The reaction to it is totally for real though.

Does anybody else find La Mulana kind of disturbing - like it was made by someone who's been driven half-insane by overhard games - like even if a Mario game is hard at least it's cute on the surface
Hell Temple was definitely made by a guy like that yeah. Someone who hates his fans and gets a kick out of making people cry. But it's a hidden dungeon - the rest of the game isn't like that at all, the rest of the game is sane. It's hard aye, but it's one of those games you can beat without a walkthrough. It's not as hard/annoying as say, Sam 'n Max or Maniac Mansion.

Many games. But recently? Children of Mana for the DS. I almost cried with how awful it was. :(
The graphics and music were great. And even parts of the gameplay were decent, but it was how the game developed that made it so ugly and lame compared to Secret of Mana or Seiken Densetsu 3.

I agree with you here. I pushed through Sword of Mana for GBA and this and both times I wasn't rewarded at all. The gameplay was decent but it got so repetitive toward the end, and the story might as well have been non-existent for how generic it was. It was better than Sword but barely.

Clock Tower came first, on the SNES. And Resident Evil was a Alone in the Dark ripoff anyway. Also, from what I've played of the first one, I can say they aren't anything alike. Like at all. But I've only played the first Clock Tower, so I've no idea how the other ones are.

I don't think you can call resident evil a ripoff if it was better than what it was "ripping-off".

I know if that happeend to me I'd be like ahahahaha that's pretty funny. that was pretty good. but I wouldn't be like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unless I was going fo ra joke.

Would you feel better if I said it was 'inspired by' Alone in the Dark instead?

The first Playstation one is pretty alright, and the first chapter of The Struggle Within is kind of neat. It has the "trapped in a house with a murderous child" thing going on. The second and third chapters are godawful because it tries to be Resident  Evil, placing our intrepid heroine against zombies. Lots and lots of zombies. Zombies you had to kill to get by, instead of being able to hide from them or outwit them or anything.

Pretty sure you can, but I don't know if Resident Evil is an Alone in the Dark rip off or not. Although I will say that I enjoyed Alone in the Dark far more than Resident Evil.
