Sometimes you see things like Dragon Warrior IV for $100 or whatever.  So it's not that unusual that he might have a similar store that could give him decent scratch for his collection.
My brother sold that game several years back for probably not very much...
Since then I have only even came across one copy :(
60 bucks, didnt buy it
fuck it all, dd is dead

Those little shops, in my experience, have a bad reputation for buying the games and will probably screw you. Selling independently on eBay is probably the best chance for profit.

Just for the record the DS is horrible and I gave mine to my mom two days after I got it. I am just telling you this because I wish someone would've told me.

Shut up. DS owns.

That said, don't sell those games. I did, and I've hated myself for it ever since.
The only thing dumber than an argument on the Internet is the same argument in real life.

And your mom probably plays it quite a bit, am I right?  Good for her.  I'm sure you'll be far happier with a PSP and the latest copy of Madden, or Smackdown, or whatever you kids are playing these days, what with your goofballs and your Dan Fogelburg records.

Gamestop doesn't even buy anything older than PS2/Gamecube/X-Box anymore.  If you brought them, you would most likely be offered a paltry sum for some of the rarer titles in your collection by an employee.

I would save them and show them to your children, when you have children.  Such items are relics to be cherished, not trinkets to be pawned for drug money.

I don't really understand what you are trying to say.  Is this a DS VERSUS PSP comment or just a general "lol PSP has no games" remark?

I don't like explaining something I said, because I lose all effect I was going for, but mainly because that means I fail at words.  But I will anyway.

I was implying that, despite the fact that he thinks the DS is "horrible", his mom probably enjoys it, thus stating that it's good enough for someone, namely his mom and the millions of other happy DS owners across the globe.

This is my not-so-clever attempt to say that he probably doesn't like clever, well designed and interesting games.  He would prefer the mainstream tripe with OMGGRAFIX that is shovel-fed to kids everywhere.  Not to say that the PSP has no games.  In fact, there are some very good games for it.

Except drule isn't like that at all, Bondo. His favourite game is like MERLINS ADVENTURE for the SNES (something like that)

He likes old school adventure games.

Also yeah, the DS sucks, don't buy one. You can emulate anything worth playing (all 6 non-brain teaser/disney games released on the thing)

Hahaha man you actually tried to call me out on being TOO MAINSTREAM to understand the DS. That is super gay.

Also my mom likes it because she has no perception of what makes a good game.

Yeah I have like everything Omcifer has except for Illusion of Gaia (sold it because I thought it was overrated) and Secret of Mana (not sure if I lost it or sold it :() I had a copy of BREATH OF FIRE II but I sold that after I beat it because it was worth like 5 bajillion dollars (well $70 actually)

But I do have all 4 Dragon Warrior games for NES if I didn't mention it

So if I didn't mention it before I'm more looking for good places to BUY old NES/SNES games. Although to be honest I want to check out some of the old Playstation games because I never really knew enough about what game were made for it - like is JUMPING FLASH any good? And I need to play Parappa again :( Let's see, I also never played Tomba! somehow - well I played a demo too much and I got sick of it - and I want to check out Artdink's stuff because they're so crazy and I heard they made some real game called CARNAGE HEART that had really weird gameplay or was that someone else?

Like I said before, keep your games. If you only have a small collection, you'r not going to gain much by selling them off. You'll be losing essentially a part of your youth and a valuable bunch of entertainment items. I keep all my games, I rarely/never trade in stuff, because the amount you get for it is never worth it.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but seriously, you should keep them. Especially Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG. I would just wait until you get a job, because even with just a part time job, you could get both a SP AND a DS in like a month.
Hungry? Why wait?

I don't like that people start advice topics like this and then never come back with an update letting us know what their decision was.

I'm not here to appease you, but I'll tell you what I did. I sold my N64/Games, and Atari/Games, plus some insignificant NES and SNES games. I kept the ones that were some of the better games and/or more scarce to find.

If you're still considering buying a DS Lite, I'd buy it. Most mentioned you can play using the R4 but CycloDS is a better choice atm because R4DS' price has rocketed and the stocks are low in stores due to high demand.

Um..on the note of emulators. Check this out:

http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/Category:Emulators_on_DS

It proved to be of great help when I just learnt that the DS can be used to play those old games.

Nice collection you got, that CT game will fetch quite a lot on FeeBay.

Edit: Oh, but I wouldn't sell it as you probably know by now.

I don't think it's too much to ask what you did after you ask people for help =/.

I was debating selling my SNES/games once but I'm glad I didn't. Having the originals still makes me get all nostalgia giddy.
