pretty sure it is an apríl fools joke.

Uh I thought it was a pretty obvious April Fool's joke (forget bypassing the filter, I don't feel like it) considering it also lists the release date as April 1st, 2009 and the credits show the film is supposedly being made by IGN (who suddenly are in the filmmaking business out of nowhere)

I busted out laughing at 1:45 when he looks up after getting dressed, something about his face is just not right...

This is either fake or made by a really low-budget company (Uwe Boll, perhaps?).  If it is fake, I have to applaud IGN for putting that much effort into making the trailer.

If you look closely at the credits, IGN is listed in there along with some production company I didn't recognize.

I mean even if you liked Lord of the Rings it's like if the movie were stripped down to only the dorkisms - like some sort of alternate reality where Peter Jackson never got big and made fan movies in his backyard + blue tarp and entourage of most likely virginal friends
