  • A law adventure game where you act as the prosecutor.
  • Main characters are Miles Edgeworth, Dick Gumshoe
  • You control Edgeworth, searching for overlooked evidence and inconsistencies at the crime scene.
  • New search and deduction systems are introduced.

The new game in the Ace Attorney series, a spinoff starring everyone's favourite prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth. I think this is an abosutely fantastic idea, and can't wait for it to come out, especially since Edgeworth was my favourite character. It looks like the investigation process is mroe involved than the other games, with you running around checking the scene of the crimes with Detective Gumshoe by your side.

It certainly is a nice break from constantly defending clients, and is probably what the series needed. I was always interested in the Ace Attorney prosecutors, and the chance to play as one of them is too rich to give up.

By the looks of some of the screens it seems like you can actually walk around now instead of just advancing screen by screen which would be neat.  Also, I hope some of Gumshoe's "devices" make a return as they were pretty awesome in the previous games.  I'll definitely be picking this one up.

OBJECTION!

Do we get to forge evidence and tell people to lie too?   Either way, I'm looking forward too this, even though I haven't finished any of the other Ace Attorney games.  Oh...  and are we condemning innocents?

That was the old Edgeworth. After the first game, he reformed himself into a pretty decent guy, so no forging evidence or whatnot. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to go after the real criminals in question.

Well...  I'm on the last case on PW:AA, and I played the first case on AJ:AA.

So I don't know whether or not he changed for good.  I'll admit I was confused when he helped Wright during the Steel Samurai case.

ahahah these games.

yes...the prosecutor is now a police officer.

THIS MAKES SENSE.

defense actually goes out and does a bit of investigative work (i think i mentioned going undercover at home depot once for a civil suit) if they have to, but state prosecutors only use detectives.

i feel incredibly gay because it seems like saying UGH STAR WARS SUCKS BECAUSE THERES NO SOUND IN SPACE but it really doesn't make sense that a prosecutor would go after the "real criminals" since this is what COPS do. they could just make a game about the detective and then you switch the prosecution side during court cases but I guess it's better to make it much more confusing.

I'm currently playing through Apollo Justice and loving it.

This is very  much welcome news and starring everyone's favorite prosecutor. ^_^  Not to mention it could indeed open some doors background wise regarding his time with the Von Karmas even moreso than the brief mentionings in the past games.

@ thejackyl

Just you wait, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations need to be the next two games you get it. ;)

From what I know of this you will be playing as (or at least he will be really really involved) Gumshoe also.

I love how on the first page, It says "New... NOT!"

Still, I can't help but wonder if this is some cruel April Fools joke.

It says NEW Gyakuten NOT Saiben. In Japan, the series is called Gyakuten Saiben, or Turnabout Trial. This game is called Gyakuten Kenji, or Turnabout Prosecutor. Plus, they announced they were doing a NEW Gyakuten NOT Saiben game all the way back in February.

That's the cover for Apollo Justice.  It's a legit sequel too.  I have no idea about a fan-made one though.  Also, I think there's 4 iirc.

1: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
2: Phoenix Wright: Justice for All
3: Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations
4: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

You know, what I really wonder is if you get to wave your finger infront of your face.

For real.

Maybe they could make you do it REALLY exaggerated so the mic can pick up on the sound of the wind.

I imagine there will be a proper trailer out there in due time, but Famitsu managed to cover the recent Capcom event for the Gyakuten Saiban series which included some new tidbits/footage about the new Edgeworth game.

Kickass, if that trailer is any indication then Franziska will be involved.  Haven't seen enough of her lately.

Also I know it's just the sprite but it makes Edgeworth look REALLY short.

I never played Phoenix Wright, but I always love the idea of one of other characters continuing the series. And... cmon... it's edgeworth.
