I dunno if that's what soup said, but that "serenity squad" thing is gold, and it needs to be in the wiki.

Anyway, I'm about to go off topic here, but I hope you plan on cleaning the glue out before rebuilding the guitar. In my world, when you snap a neck the thing is dead, and is only glued back together so it can be officially smashed on stage.

this kind of repair is actually pretty commonplace. in fact, when done properly the neck is stronger at the break point than before. yeah the glue is the first thing to go via hair dryer or heat gun. then in goes the wood glue and on go the clamps. i'm oversimplifying but thats basically the idea

and btw youre actually VERY on topic. thing kind of went astray after my original post  :fogetlaugh:

aight here's the update:

went to home depot and got a bottle of stainable wood glue and two 3 inch clamps--about $14
took a hair dryer to the glue nem used and peeled it out.
applied the glue, clamped it down at strategic places, and wiped away the seepage!

tomorrow the clamps come off and i use wood putty to fill in any remaining imperfections. then sand it down til its seamless. After that comes the staining.

i'll post those updates as well. til then lets meet the SG this one shall join after its fixed!

enough pr0n! peace out!   :naughty:

You can't put the clamps like that! You need to put something between them and the guitar, or else you will end up with several circular marks everywhere.

Yea wtf dude, steel clamps vs finished wood?

I suppose you're thinking you're going to refinish it, since it's got a huge crack in it?

yeah usually i'd use small slabs of pine between the clamps and the body wood (which is pretty soft) but in this case i wasnt gonna stress over any cosmetics. the neck finish may be sanded away in the future and then refinished in a light cherry stain and then a clear coat

i find it difficult to believe that you will get very far as a faith musician with a guitar filled with cum

EXCELLENT GIMMICK THOUGH does it make you play better knowing that you can be that close to both god and male ejaculate simultaneously???????

y'know the concept of a metal geetar solo is copulation right? the ejaculation comes up with the climax of the solo, when the geetarist holds and pulls up the squeekiest sound.

But it's not just cosmetics. Putting a piece of wood between the part and the clamp also spreads the pressure around instead of concentrating it on just one spot.

Hmm sweet axe. Sadly i only own a legend bass, but i'm gonna buy a 6 sting electric Axe and learn that, strumming away on the base line is kinda boring. Tell me, whats a good make for first time 6 string guitarist? That isn't really really expensive.

Yamaha, Washburn, Dean, Squier, Epiphone, etc, there are several brands that are good enough but stay away from those 30$ chinese guitars. They're awful.

yeah you really have a lot of options. go to music/guitar stores near you with someone who knows what to look for in quality when it comes to guitars. see what clicks with you and of course you can look up user reviews on sites like harmony central, musicians friend, and the like.
