I don't think I could ever room with guys... at least, not easily. Even my good guy friends from high school. To me, it would just be awkward and weird and exceedingly messy. But, hey, if it's an option, and people want to do it, then by all means, they should go with it. It's not like you have to get a co-ed dorm room (there are options, right?) so I don't see why it's such a big deal to parents.
Hey, I'm going to the University of Pennsylvania... but I doubt I'll ever take up this option (I don't think my parents will have a problem with coed dorm rooms existing, though). But, jeez, can't a straight girl and a straight guy ever just be friends? According to the woman in the article, such a thing is impossible. Somebody needs to tell these parents that some kids do stuff besides sex. Shocking, isn't it?
