Which is also BS because diablo is an actual word.  The logo can be trademarked but not the name.

My thoughts?  I have none considering it takes Blizzard 4 years to come up with anything worth showing.

They have copyright over the franchise name dude.

If you couldn't copyright solo words for a franchise, then Take Two could go and make an RPG called Fable 3 and make it complete shit just because "you can't copyright the word Fable".

They aren't copyrighting the word, they copyright the franchise. This allows them to take legal action/injunctions on people who would do anything that would harm their franchise, such as creating a website called Diablo 3 and withholding the name from Blizzard and then asking them to pay for it (cybersquatting, also illegal), creating a game similar to it and called Diablo X or Diablo: _______ without their permission, and such.

Yeah, I'm kinda skeptical about this meaning a new Diablo game. Mainly because Blizzard North was dissolved.

The thing about Blizzard is that if they decide that their games are shit, even like MOMENTS BEFORE ITS RELEASE, they won't release their games.

They're a bunch of perfectionists that take a bajillion years to get things done. Diablo III would be interesting, but how could they get the story to work? Wasn't the Worldstone kinda, well, destroyed? How can they continue from that, man. It just wouldn't work. Unless some shit like NEW EVILS appear or something.

The books are terrible and are almost completely unrelated.... but a prequel is something to work with.

The destruction of the Worldstone changes the world/reality, so anything could happen.

Approved by Blizzard.... yes. But they are as relevant as fan fiction. The only reason why I read them was because I was a Blizzard fanboy at the time... and even then, I didn't like them.... and I have no standards in my litratures.

  I still wonder what happened with that game, and why they waited like 5 years just to cancel it. I was so excited for starcraft ghost.

And IMO,

I think they will be making a diablo3. As unlikely as blizzard says its going to be, I dont see much reason in taking down the diablo3.com site without some indication that they are in the process of making it. I guarantee that in 1-2 years the diablo3 site will  re-done with screen shots and info about the game. Oh well I'm actually excited, diablo was one of my favorite game series. I still love playing them every once in a while.



- However... as good as a new diablo 3 game would be. Idk about a prequel... I mean diablo,mephitso, and baal were always the fun parts of the game, being able to kill them... If it is actually going to be a prequel, you obviously wouldn't be fighting diablo... and if its after, they are already dead. So who will be the antagonist(s)?
