On my old computer i was able to plug my phone jack into the 56k modem and with a program use my computer basically as a phone on my landline.
I cannot seem to find the program to do this anymore and id like to do it. so if you know the program or another way to do it that aint voip / cost money then tell me !

I have a 56k in my computer. I think the program was actually meant to be for fax but it held your contacts phone numbers and the sorts :/

Thanks in advanced.  :)

Get another phone? Seems what you're trying to do will just be more inconvenient that that.

I'd guess you'd want a dialer or caller ID prog, both which should generally allow you the capability to answer.
