yeah i don't think it looks that great either, just looks like a run of the mill action/comedy movie, with stuff like panda said, poor jokes but people are in hysterics over them.

also i hate super hero movies that VASTLY unrealistic and i don't mean the superpowers and all that. example is when he throws/punches that kid up in the air and he falls back down, that kid would have died, there is no way around that he, if he punched him that fucking hard he would have shattered his skull/jaw and when he caught him the force of the impact would have broken his ribs/back/etc, i can get that hes flying but it just seems really unrealistic to have normal people surviving super powers like that

Call me crazy, but I'm looking forward to this movie.  I think it looks like a "popcorn" movie, something that's fun to watch and doesn't require thinking.  Something that just a great time waster[which ][/which].

By the way where can you go to read the original script before it was editted?  I've a few people talking about it.

Also the little that he catches was not punched...  In the trailer it looks like he simply threw him into the air.

God I hate this shit.  The director and producer want to keep the script unchanged and normally the producer has a huge input in the direction of the film but the actual production/distribution guys at Sony are putting their foot down saying this HAS TO BE pg-13 or else it will instantly fail in the box office.

On the other hand I can't forget when I read that the original ending of Clockwork Orange was HE GETS BETTER

I really like Will Smith and this film looks properly good so i'm looking forward to it.

The trailer was quality if nothing else.

I'll be watching this for sure as Will Smith gives a great performance in his films. I suspect this film to be great, and I have no doubt it will big one of the biggest sellers of the year. Smith just got better and better after I, Robot so even if the plot is dull and the film goes to crap I easily see this movie raking in a large wad of green in the box office.

he does get better, in the book. its part of burgess' prose, that he'd outgrow it. so its really not unbelievable that it was the original ending in the film...

I'm going to go see Hancock, eventually. The trailers entice me for whatever reason, and Will Smith rarely puts out a poor performance. Should be fun, anyway.

I just saw it, it was a really fun movie and some stuff happens that I didn't expect. It wasn't Iron Man or Hulk awesome but it was still good imo.

am i the only one who thought that the whole was predictable? after that it seemed to get a bit cheezy and prettty much shat all over the original premise which was what drew me to the movie in the first place.

Even though the twist as missingno also agrees with was pretty predictable I still thought that Smith gave a nice performance and was an overall great movie experience. I would like to compare it to the likes of this years other superhero films, but it's really not the same level as other superhero films. I am not saying it's NOT a superhero film, but I am not saying it IS a superhero film.

Overall the movie was a great film overall that alot of people can sink into and was just a good movie in general.

Oh man, didn't like it at all! It was weird; superhero movies can make their own rules on realism, but man, this movie just took it and shook around ending up making no sense what so ever. Not enough BACKSTORY either. Bad for a WILL SMITH film.

I agree with the ending thing and yeah they shouldve made the movie a bit longer to include more backstory.

speaking of humorous action movies, I think Crank is the best at that. man I had such quality time
yeah that was a pretty bizarre/funny film.

wasn't there a scene where it turned into an old video game or something?

i just saw it and idk it was better than i expected in some ways

like i thought his character would be LOVABLE ASSHOLE LOL but he was really just kind of a regular old asshole, which i thought was pretty good.  DRANK, SWORE, KILLED PEOPLE.  but i thought the INNER TURMOIL//PAIN shit was pretty poorly realized, and when they started explaining his origins i thought it got convoluted and kind of dumb.  like... i really didn't understand a lot of what they explained.

anyway, it was okay i guess.  he cut that guy's hand off and then killed those other dudes and i got a kick out of that, because i definitely expected the character to be more of a family friendly jackass.  i also dug that there wasn't really any villain, just SELF-DISCOVERY, which is a pretty cool idea for a superhero movie i think.  plus i'm a fan of bittersweet endings so him just having to GO AWAY and forget about her was nicer than some random happyending shit, although i guess it was still a pretty happy ending.  still though, it's not really the premise i had a problem with so much as the execution and the actual plotting.  it was OKAY but mostly i thought it was pretty mediocre and it wasn't especially funny at all for the most part, and the latter half of the movie got pretty schmaltzy and convoluted.  it could've been a way better movie had it been handled differently!
