I just saw it tonight and I liked it. You know, I liked the midway change in direction because without it the movie would have gotten stale and become a typical superhero movie with a 'superhero vs bad guys' plot. While the plot twist was kind of sudden, there were a few scenes where foreshadowing took place - Mary was clearly uncomfortable around Hancock and she did have a look of desire on her face at times - so much so that I nearly expected those two to have an affair at some point in the film - turning this into a drama. But, instead, the film turned into a love story of sorts. I found it very appropriate that to bring her back to life Hancock had to stay away as far as possible from her and leave her behind... something that clearly was difficult for him. Despite the fact that he couldn't remember the past and their whole relationship the chemistry between them was there. I found the scene after the credits to be a little weird in its context.. was it just a random humourous scene or does it signal for a sequel? I don't know what direction they can take the story, but regardless, if it does happen I'll go see it. I really enjoyed Hancock's character.
