The real reason for making this topic was to find a fun game for my friends and I to play in school during the day. We've been playing Tanks for the last couple of days and it has become excruciatingly boring. The class that we all play in only has one computer so that really limits things and there are a minimum of 5 of us playing at a time. So I'm looking for a game that can be played on one computer with at least 5 people, that is also relatively simple. Any help would be appreciated.

Of course, making a topic just for myself would be rather self-centered, so just as a general question what do you play when you get bored at school or work?

I take out my old psx and play old school rpg games. at the moment beating FF7 over and beating Grandia for the first time. I beat the 2nd one but never got a chance to beat the first.

fighting games are good for groups. Also DDR, Guitar Hero, Rock Band.

there was this very cool tron cycle game I used to play at school. Could have up to four players at once but I can't remember the name of it.

Boxhead 2 p is a good one though, or if you can download emulators Metalslug, snk/capcom fighting games.

we played GBA at school with that Super Mario minigame, four players. You know the one with the black background, a couple monsters come out of pipes, and your job is to kill them and stay alive as long as possible...?
We called it Belly Boppers, since four fat plumbers were bopping each other out of the way with their bellies. That was one fun game, man. Hours of...Days of.... yeah, GBA was highschool.

If I have my DS on me I might play that during breaks between classes, preferrably something I can jump in and  out of quickly like Mario Kart or something.

5 people on one computer?  You should just find something for 2 players and just cycle through each person depending on who wins or loses.  With that criteria, you're not likely to find anything fun - assuming something like that exists.  (Flash games?)

If you just use one computer, I recommend Worms. Armageddon or World Party, I think. The hotseat matches are exactly for your kind of set up.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest.  It's perfect for your situation.

I was also going to say worms. Worms 2 will run on some pretty old systems, but if its newer then 10 years, it should be able to run the newer worms like Armageddon or World Party just fine. It's always a blast, and definitely at the top of my list when I think of games for multiple people on a single PC.

You should play scrabble. Everyone likes scrabble and then you learn words to use in school.

Tanks? Is that what I think it is? The old 2d game with stationary tanks and you had to input values for where and how strong to shoot and there was wind and different ammo?

God that game rocks.

Also this is gonna be dumb but considering your situation an obvious choice would be Worms 1 or 2...

Also a lot of people here are dumb and don't read the OP he's in need of ONE GAME FOR ONE COMPUTER THAT 5+ PEOPLE CAN PLAY

Anything turnbased actually is good that allows more players, that doesnt take too long (that eliminates heroes and civnet).
