Wow.....
Is George Lucus on crack or somthing? This looks like some sort of freaking digitally animaited children's cartoon! What are they thinking?!

Anyway, this movie will basically fill the gap between episode 2 and 3 and seems to be based on the "Clone Wars" cartoon, which was a pretty decent addition to the starwars universe. However, I just don't like where Lucus is going with this movie. Why not use the real actors? Oh well, most(maybe all) of the voices come from the Episode 3 cast, and that was my favorite of all starwars movies. There seems to be some new characters as well as some suprisingly awesome saber fighting. Despite the fact that this movie LOOKS like shit, i will still see it. This is mainly because the Clone Wars cartoon didn't answer all of my questions and it just seemed so mute most of the time. Expect to see some more big screen lightsaber action(and milking :P) this Summer.

I have no idea why this couldn't be made into more cartoons, as it obviously will not fit with the 6 original movies. Then it hit me. It's all about the $$$.

he's doing this 3D animated movie (checked out the trailer and well... 3D movies with lower res textures than most PS2 games...) and then he's following it on with a 3D animated TV series about the clone wars (while the in production live action series is between eps 3 and 4 and is gauranteed to piss over so many of the expanded universe fiction)

This is what will finally bring me to join the hate-club for George. The EU is too good to be messed up, he should just adapt the books into his shows.

man the EU is actually pretty awful buttttt they could adapt the thrawn stuff or yuzhan vong and it'd be kind of okay because while they are some of the worst fiction possible it at least has a neat premise or two around there.

so basically doing what he's doing now to the EU, taking what he likes.

I just saw an extended trailer, and i must say this does not look abysmal nor does it look spectacular. This could be the low point of the series, but hey both episode 2 and 3 were my favorite out of the 6. As long as they don't fuck around with the storyline, i will be content and ignore the fact that Lucus is making his new movie look like an out dated dreamcast game.

Dude, the latest Star Wars EU fiction is basically "Bush is Hitler"(also little hint here Lucas people, calling a book Sacrifice and then having Mara jade's picture on the cover... WAY TO NOT SPOIL THE PLOT THERE)

Yah the EU does have it's few moments(most of them in comic form) but Lucas has a near DC ability to change shit, rendering parts of the EU useless and incomprehensable unless you've read the latest retcon.
I like the Star Wars EU, mainly because I'm really really fucking lazy(it's no excuse I know) and because everything's already drawn out for me and there's no useless fucking technobable (which on it's own means that 99% of science fiction literature is pure crap) for me to pretend to care about. Same reason I used to spend 14 hours a day on L][ I guess!

Darkjak, episodes 2 and 3 were the lowpoint in the series, Jesus dude!

Uhhh, we have and and... that's all I can think of because I haven't read a lot for a while.

Wait that might be during the Vong stuff, I should really just leave this to Kaworu.

that's prettymuch it. The rest were non entities like poiticians and z-list jedi( and shit I don't care to remember (also died during the vong war) oh and died, got killed by Caedus' new mistress apprentice. Also some people may have died in the latest one which just came out (presumably Caedus dies as it's the last in the "story")

Pretty much the only good EU is the Thrawn Trilogy. The whole Yuuzhan Vong war was terrible and just a poor excuse to kill off major characters. That's also something that bothers me: Can't any old character actually die of simply being old?

EU overall is not something I would take as canon (and it isn't so no real argument there). The EU is more or less "this is how things COULD go...". I mean, Owen was Obi-Wan's brother for starters... Yuuzhan Vong MOVING PLANETS to create storms and stuff on Coruscant or whatever.

Liking EU is alright, but saying something like "Lucas is shit for spitting on EU" like Kaworu seem to think is just silly. The reason EU can be so bad is because there are too many fantasy writers like Kevin J. Anderson who adds people turning into wolves and stuff.

As for this Clone Wars "film", it's more or less 2 episodes to start off the series. Complaining that it looks like "low res PS2 games" kinda makes it sound like you simply dislike anything related to the new films. Can you imagine the costs if they tried to make it more like Pixar quality? For a 3D tv series, it looks pretty darn good compared to what's out today on regular tv.

Meh I just think Star Wars would be better (good/acceptable instead of rubbish) if it wasn't so convulted due to trying to work itself around each new thing that gets introduced. Yeah I don't like the new star wars films, but I also only like one of the original trilogy movies and like a small amount of the eu, so don't misquote me, because you're an idiot.

Also I take it you've never watched a 3D cartoon series before, because this does look like a budget series compared to a lot of the stuff that was floating around around the year 2000.

Aww... Kaworu gets angry because someone disagrees with him? :(
I didn't misquote you, I didn't quote you at all. I simply mentioned how it sounded in my ears based on your post. Maybe I'm not allowed to do that, sorry master.

And yeah, I don't watch much 3D series... give me some examples and prove me wrong then. I'm on thin ice.

dude you didn't seem to unserstand what I was saying, and I don't get angry over trivial shit :/

Also check out mainframe entertainment, they did 3D animation shows based on Hasbro's toy properties which are prettymuch universally agreed to be really cool. Also they did Reboot.

I like the Clone Wars serial Tartakovski did for the Cartoon Network. I have it on DVD, the whole thing is really quite stylish and epic, despite the pure cheeze here and there. I'm with everyone else on this one though, it doesn't look promising at all.

If they just threw this whole 3D Clone Wars project away they could spend time on the live action show. Honestly, people waited 25 years to find out what the "clone wars" were. Once we found out, a video game, novels, and the cartoon serial was a blast. But Reveng of the Sith ended the whole thing. No one cares about the clone wars anymore. We know waht's going on this whole time, so why do we need to see the same stories again, in three dee, on the big screen, thne have it on TNT for months.

Fucking George Lucas.
