I'm pretty sure DE is correct. Zoombinis was fun (and educational).

Are you sure it's not sshodown1.png?
"Field Marshal Haig is about to make yet another gargantuan effort to move his drinks cabinet six inches close to Berlin."

Sam: "What assurance do you give, Taraka, that this bargain will be kept?"
Taraka: "My word? I shall be happy to swear by anything you care to name--"
Sam: "A facility with oaths is not the most reassuring quality in a bargainer..."

If I am not mistaken, that game was mentioned in another topic with a screenshot that said Victoly!, but I am too lazy too look it up.

I only guessed Samurai Showdown because it looked similar. The graphic style is very similar. I also guessed BEFORE I saw the file name, btw.

Seconded.
I have a feeling that half of the games posted here are fighters.
And half of those look the same.

It's been more than three hours. It was Kanon, one of the most popular dating games (outside of Japan) ever (and one of the three or so games that characters from EFZ came from), so I figured you guys'd have a shot. Someone else should go ahead and post a screen.

Just don't make it very challenging to guess. Apparently we're supposed to be lobbing softballs here. ¬¬
Apparently we don't care for shitty Japanese dating games. Softballs? Well, I'm sure there's been plenty of games you, me or most of others wouldn't have gotten right.

And I agree with CyberMan16 and rami. Almost all those fighting games look identical. :(

hahahahah... a popular dating game... no seriously a popular dating game would probably have like 1/3 of the players the LEAST popular game on here has had.

and dating games are stupid. it's for easy gamers, not hardcore gamers which most of gw consists of. gwers are looking for gameplay, not "TELL HER HER BOOBS ARE FINE / GIVE CHOCOLATE / INSTANTLY EJACULATE" dating game...

:(

Yeah. Pretty much anything for PC or non-Genesis Sega systems. But I didn't ask that the rules be changed so that only games I'm familiar with be allowed in. I just don't see how Kanon is more obscure than Dinowarz, which has been posted here to little complaint.

But this is my final word on the argument, because I don't want to fill this topic with off-topic metatext. I guess from here on I'll have to either put up games everyone's played, or find minor NES and Atari games that everyone's forgotten if I want to have any challenge in my screens.

Just post games released outside Japan next time.
AFAIK Kanon was released on a CD, so it's probably about ~700MB. How many people were interested enough to download something like that? And I don't think putting a screen with characters would make it much easier to guess.
NES titles are only about 200KB, so no wonder even Japanese only ones are more known than some Kanon DATING game. I actually heard of it, but would never download something like that.
