What shocks me most is that the number of usenet posts on any subject continues to rise. I mean, who still uses usenet?
Usenet was created in 1979. IRC was created in 1988. Both predate the overwhelming popularity boost of the Internet due to the invention of the WWW. I'm not sure if you use IRC frequently, but if you do, you may not find it strange to see Usenet posts rates rising even today, if you think about the fact that IRC usage continues to increase as well, since both have been around well before the time that
everybody started going online, and thus the age is no longer much of a factor.
